If the NCAA is going to try and allege to make things fair and still make college athletics on an amateur level, this all-access Kentucky should be banned.

It's basically a "Come to UK" commercial.

I'm not saying Calipari is dirty for using this (it's smart), but showing the Harrison twins commitments and basically giving them free publicity is a joke.

It's ridiculous how the NCAA continues to operate.

Other programs have had the same opportunity to take advantage, and they do to a certain degree (with the all access special) . UK is the program who spends 300K on a practice, therefore it will obviously be heads and shoulders above any other program in terms of exposure and hype.

Win some, invest in round ball, and perhaps the Cuanz can have such a show. I very much enjoyed said infomercial....

I think he was referring to Big Blue Madness, where a player could get hurt hamming it up for the fans.

As earlier posted, same could be said about a lot of teams featured. I know they do it for football programs. I for one like watching them. Cool to see behind the scenes stuff.

He's FOS either way, whether it's All Access or Madness that he said he didn't want to do. Whatever. He should have been honest and just said he's excited to do and take advantage of both. There's no shame in doing either. Yet, he acts all high and mighty and was basically FOS.

He was on Mike & Mike yesterday. People ask him why would do the show since UK didn't need the publicity. He didn't want to but decided to do it for his players. He wanted people to see their work & sacrifice on & off the court. So the show is really for them not kentucky basketball.

He is a slick guy. I almost believed him for a minute.

Of course. If you are a UK fan you should be pumped to see this. Hell, I don't even mind if you do one all-access thing.

I think it's ridiculous that they get three one hour episodes.

I also think it's ridiculous that the players are the ones being featured and won't get a dime from this.

This is different from televised games, how?

This; see bolded.
They're not the first school to get an All Access, but three episodes in the middle of Fall recruiting is overkill.

It's absolutely ridiculous that the NCAA permits this garbage. I remember flipping on ESPN and the one about Alabama football was on. Pisses me right off.

It's really not.

Trust me, I'm in the "Down with the NCAA" crowd as you and wish someone would do away with their hypocritical, money grabbing joke of an institution.

I could see where people would hate it, especially the segment where coach O is checking twitter and gets smirky but take comfort in knowing it won't get any worse than this.

I think it's genius and as a lifelong UK fan appreciate the access, I've never seen the Joe Craft center or the "Cole" lodge (funny) and if it were somehow only available to UK fans I'd like it just as much - I'm sort of ambivalent to the affect on recruits, but the only reason that's true is because they all want to be here anyway.
