Brutal article, but pretty much spot on.

Living in Kentucky for the last two years - I would say it is all true. I thought we Vol fans could be brutal. These guys win the prize. They were ready to fire Billy G. after the loss to Gardner Webb last season. The loss to VMI was even worse. But then again - Kentucky Bball fans are like Alabama football fans. Sorry folks Adolf and the Bear are DEAD! With the players available today and the coaching so much better than yester year - NO MORE DYNASTY! They are looking for a coach to regain the dynasty status. Oh, it is true that Billy G. did not get the fact that as the coach of the Kentucky Wildcats - you are expected to deal with everyone and every thing. It is a PR job as well as a coaching job. Billy G. has the personality of a fence post. I don't think the dude in Memphis would be much better at that. He would whine and complain because he had to play in Knoxville - EVERY YEAR!

You could have said similar things about Bama pre-Saban. The right coach gets in there and they are back to dominating the SEC.

I wonder how many of the UK recruits are going to reopen their recruitment now?...Hmmm

As of now, Daniel Orton and Dominique Ferguson have both (well, technically their parents) said that they ARE leaning toward reopening their recruitment, but would wait to speak with the next UK coach before any decision was made. These are our two biggest recruits so far, go figure.

Jon Hood, Konner Tucker, and GJ Vilarino seem to still be committed at this point. But its a loooong off season.

The bigot comment in reference to the opinions of the fan base of Tubby Smith was a little much, but other than that...

With all due respect to the few decent UK fans who regularly post on this board, Kentucky can freaking suck it. Like everybody else in the SEC, I've always found UK people fairly intolerable during basketball season, but their complete ineptitude in the only sport that everybody else down here really cares about has meant that I've never really been able to cultivate a serious loathing for them. Kentucky has always been kind of like a dumb kid who's really good at cup-stacking or something. I hate UK basketball, always have -- but really, they're only the New York Yankees for three months a year. The rest of the time they're the Pittsburgh Pirates. It's hard to get a good hatred going on for those guys.

All of this changed for me last year during the SEC tournament. A freaking TORNADO blew through the middle of the DOWNTOWN OF A MAJOR CITY, and all you could hear for three days afterwards was Kentucky fans bitching about not getting to see their crappy basketball team play. And casting about for somebody to sue -- the Georgia Dome? the SEC? the city of Atlanta? Who else can we get? Every news story, every article contained a video or comment from some toothless loser in Smurfette blue bitching about how "they" should have had a contingency plan in place for a tornado, or what a crappy job the city did. Never mind that a TORNADO SLAMMED INTO THE DOWNTOWN OF A BIG CITY; it was all "Oh God, what about my precious basketball tickets?!?" I don't really believe in karma, but they built up enough that weekend to destroy the careers of two or three otherwise decent coaches in a row.

I hope the SEC tournament never comes back to Atlanta, because I don't want to see their whiny blue arses around here anymore. And God knows the only way UK will ever play a football game here is if they schedule a series with Georgia Tech.

:) Nice rant. I'm very good at cup stacking too.
