All,
I know that with the firing of Derek Dooley today, that there will be much rejoice and a feeling that this season and nightmare is finally over. I to believe this move is for the best and will lead to brighter days.
With that said, I would like to remind everyone that with the upcoming Kentucky game, this season is NOT OVER. With the Kentucky game, brings an end to the career of several senior Volunteer football players. These seniors have been through so much over the last four years. They have went through multiple coaching changes and have been on the frontline living the nightmare that we have only had to watch. While we simply turned our TV off or leave the Stadium early, while they were left to endured the pain of losing heartbreaking games and the embarrassment of getting blown out in your own stadium. No one has bleed more orange over the last four years than this group of seniors. For the rest of this team, new hope with arise and will give way to the sunshine of success, but for this group of seniors, next week is the end.
I would encourage everyone that sending this group of players out the right way in front of a packed and supportive house, is a responsibility of each of us. Let them know that their sacrifices have not gone unnoticed and that they will always have a home here.
Just my two cents.
