So it started with Cobb. last year they picked up Robinson who started as a tightend this year. Now they picked up FB/DE Warren...

In my opinion this one will come back to bite us again! Book It. Kid can play

I don't think so. Even with Cobb they never beat us. Unless this guy scores 5 TD's and breaks the streak, it doesn't matter to me.

I dont really think its a "This will come back and bite us cause Kentucky can win" its more of a "this will come back to bite us cause at some point we might need a player like Warren". Just like Cobb, When was the last time Tennessee had a punt or a kick return? If give the option would you not like to have Cobb back there taking kicks for you? I sure would.

That being said, I wonder if there is any ill feelings between Alcoa High and UT? They've gone after some guys like Rae Sykes and Dustin Lindsay but seemingly jumped into the race for Brandon Warren very late. Were extremely picky and late with Cobb. As far as I know didnt give Darrell Warren a serious look. Wasnt very interested in Tyler Robinson. Just seems odd that all of these were top players in Tennesse, most seeing significant playing time and Tenn just kinda ignored them.

The last Warren to come out of Alcoa did wonders for the UT football program.

Dude was committed to UTC before UK offered - no he will not come back to bite us - he's not even close to DI material - we atleast offered and recruited Cobb even if it was late.

We also took Williams and Saulsberry from Gainesville.

I guess the next four years the SEC East will look like this.

South Carolina/Kentucky
Tennessee
Florida/Georgia
Vanderbilt.

tough crowd...just saying I watched the kid play a lot of football games in the last four years and he is underrated. As bad as UT needs depth at Dline he could have helped...thats all. Not that he was going to save Kentucky football, it would take a miracle from on high to do that.

With a scholarship left, I agree that perhaps we should have taken this kid. Don't really expect him to be a star, but maybe with a redshirt year, he could have contributed to the program. It helps us in the future with in-state players, especially local players.

not really sure that's the case

Not to mention there are like 5+ guys in state we would take before him if we wanted to take someone else... plus about 20+ guys in surrounding states like SC, GA, etc.

I'm not saying the kid is good or no good but honestly, the high school talent around this area isn't really the best to judge a kid off of.

Rae Sykes was way more dominant against the same competition, and look how he has panned out.

The only Alcoa guy ever worth looking at was Cobb, UT isn't missing out at all.

They missed out on Shannon Mitchell years back as well. Seems like UT has always been notorious to just turn the other head with there is local talent. Oh way, they did get that big 6'6'' 320lb Olineman from Sevier Co about 10 years ago. Fulmer walked in, the guy could sit on his rear, spread his legs and touch his nose to the ground. Fulmer gave him a scholarship.......He never played a down.
