Kentucky had 4 players drafted Sunday

TN only had 12 Seniors. A handful of them NEVER were going to be drafted. Their best OL prospect had injury issues and 2 others have already signed FA deals (as well as Eric Young).

TN was a very young team and came off a year where they had the most Day 1 (Rounds 1-3) players taken in all of College Football.

UK Having more players taken, doesn't mean much to me.

UK had much more depth at skill positions, and truthfully should have had five players drafted. I couldn't believe someone didn't take a shot at Wesley Woodyard.

Me neither. I honestly expected to see him get picked up. Kiper even had him on his "Best 10 remaining list" all day long.

I realize the reason and it doesn't mean much to me either. Just thought it was interesting.

It's not every year that Kentucky beats us at anything even related to football. Isn't that right McCat? :p

The 3 UT draftees were generally taken earlier than the UK players though.

Even more than Dewayne Robertson?

I thought Sweet Pea was better than Robertson. I'm not saying NY wasted a pick, but I don't think they got what they were hoping for.

He is better than Robertson, Sweet Pea, Marty Moore, and any other person you could think of.....and like Papa was saying, its not really a celebrated list.

I remember the nickname "Sweet Pea," but not the player's name. I'm thinking Vincent ________.

Sweet Pea was good, but Robertson's success was deceiving. Dewayne didn't have the numbers because he spent the whole time eating blocks because he was double-teamed every play his last year at UK.

Dennis Johnson was another good one who didn't pan out in the pros for long due to injury.

Marlon McCree didn't fare too poorly in the pros.

Nor did Eric Kelly.

An interesting take on Woodson's fall from the Herald-Leader, with mentions of Woodyard and Little:

Former NFL GM: Woodson wronged

Lex, any word on what's going on with Micah Johnson? The kid was a stud coming out of Ft. Campbell, had a pretty good Freshman year, and kind of disappeared from the radar last season.

I'm not Lex, but I can tell you that Micah was kind of hidden behind some pretty good linebackers, but he will be starting this fall. Through his first 2 years at UK, he had a tendency to be a little overweight. At the spring game, everyone was gasping, as the kid has worked his heinie off in the offseason, and is C-U-T. It's improved his speed. I expect the kind of numbers we thought he'd produce coming out of high school.
