Prep star at center of storm :: High School Sports :: YourSeason

Not sure why my original post was deleted. But the Times has come back and is standing by their story.

No surprise whatsoever.

When you have the most corrupt basketball program in the history of the game and one of the biggest known cheaters as your head coach, its a given this is happening.

Between fixing grades, paying recruits or people close to them, etc...it's just an automatic when you combine these 2.

There must not be much to this, or there would be a media firestorm erupting, and I haven't seen this anywhere except on here.

Can anybody explain what this means:

Davis plays for Perspectives MSA -- a co-op team with players from Perspectives Joslin and Perspectives MSA -- in the Public League Blue-West, a conference that receives almost no attention from media or college scouts.

I know, it was kind of random.

Because its complete and unfounded garbage that has no merit and the entire national media has condemned. Mods tend to remove those types of threads, just like the Bruce Pearl allegation thread started the other day.

No they don't. If it's nothing and it hurts UT - then yeah. But that's what the NCAA forum is for. Crappy threads like this one.

Even when it is a stupid thread hurting UT it usually stays - quite a lot in the main forum.

Yeah, they do. I have seen multiple threads removed by the mods.

at least KY has two sterling reputations to fall back upon in repudiating this stuff.

I'm not a Calipari apologist. I always have, and still believe the guy is shady. But offering a kid 200,000 dollars for his commitment when he can secure a #1 class without doing so is laughable. To be gullible enough to believe the story with no sources is even worse. Will UK bite the bullet one day because of Cal? Yeah, I tend to think we will. But this story is ridiculous.

nobody buys it on its face, but it's hard to completely put asunder given the parties involved.

Potentially, there are some great marketing opportunities for UK with this story. Just imagine new UK2(00)K shirts. They will fly off the shelves. :dance2:

This is what I don't get. UK fans will tolerate Cal's shadiness because he wins. But what good are the wins if they will eventually be vacated by the NCAA? You yourself believe that Cal will land you guys in hot water eventually, and vacating wins is pretty much the go to punishment for the NCAA infractions committee. I just don't understand it.

Cal may push the line in recruiting, but he's not stupid.
