Kentucky vs Florida ESPN 7:00 Eastern

Wanna remind all our "Tennessee fans" who slobbered over Florida last week, and been doing the chomp in their dreams every day that Florida lost🤣.
The overreaction by this board in general and the national media was ridiculous. They had Richardson as a combo of Cam, Vince Young and Johnny Football all in one. Utah has some good players, but to put it in basketball terms, they have a bunch of gym rats, grinders, with a high football IQ that can compete, but get out-athleted when playing the bigger schools. You guys can decode the way you want.

I thought Florida was ranked a little too high after the Utah victory. They went from unranked to pollsters believing they needed to make up for it and rank them #12.

Now, the pollsters have done it again and ranked Kentucky #9. Florida was never a #12 team in the country

The funny thing is that most of, maybe all of our resident Gator posters, while happy w/ a good win over Utah weren’t exactly beaming w/ confidence or making over the team the way our Vol posters were. They were obviously happy they got the W, but they could see things were still a long ways from where they need to be.

What he said.

Our weaknesses are well documented, without AR having a bad night.

Receivers are still garbage, DL and LB are still extremely thin. A very solid but thin OL may have lost a starter to injury against UK.

Did I mention our receivers are complete garbage?

Napier may have felt the defense was running out of gas, but I still say he made two bad calls to give Kentucky the ball in Florida territory late in the 4th. The second time was more egregious than the first one.

You’re not wrong.

This is probably my last time harping on this, but think about it. You are the frigging defense that had just stopped Kentucky from scoring an almost automatic 3 points when the offense failed to convert a 4th down at what was around 40 yard line in your own territory, then Napier goes for it again around his own 20. It probably just sunk the remaining energy from the defense. You have to punt and hope your defense holds because you are still in it if you do. Kentucky hadn't shown the ability to drive the ball down the field. That would've been less risky.

This might be one of the weaknesses. We went through our time in Hades with Butch, and this gives me flashbacks.

Apparently no one is.
No,
They’re out there.
It’s either an unknown you have to stumble into or someone who won’t take the job. It doesn’t make for a good situation for Florida fans though. You’re either going to have to get lucky or change your standard.
I could be wrong but I don’t think you’re there yet with either. Florida isn’t ready to be patient. Mullen had some success leaving Florida thinking he was close to being the guy. That’s only going to encourage a short leash for this guy. and this guy isn’t “that guy”

Mullen had success, then quit. He was the right hire for three years, then we realized he stopped recruiting in year two.

To find out if Napier is the guy, our brass will have no choice but to be patient. Our roster is a hot mess.

I don’t think we beat UK if Napier punts from our 30 late because our defense was gassed. Same thing happened against Utah but we made a play in the end zone.

Mullen left Napier with scraps to work with.

Yes I agree. All very logical. You’ve seen how Tennessee fans have been through our mess. And we’re way more tolerant than Florida. It’s going to take someone very special to overcome the mess and live up to Florida expectations. I just don’t think Nap is the guy. We will see.

Really can’t wait till we make that trash can, Levis, cry like a little girl on the sidelines again. Only 6 weeks away. These Kentucky fans are getting out of control on social media and need to be reminded that they’re still Kentucky in the worst way possible.

Napier at Florida, reminds me of when Curry was at Bama ... perhaps more of a decent guy than what a trashy fan base is used to having.
