It's a young team losing close games. Not like they're getting beaten by 20 away from home.

Exactly.

You take a young team on the road, your gonna have bumps. All you want is to be in position to win em, and they have been.

UK will be tough down the stretch.

It could be worse. You could be like us and suck regardless of where you play.

Nah, the ranking makes sense. Home and neutral site games UK can play with anyone. It's just in hostile environments this season, they lock up and get a bit timid at the end of games. Everyone defers to Knight and Jones, and jones takes some bad shots. They are young and they are clawing, but the late game killer instinct is going to have to show up before the tourney.

Just venting frustration. I'm actually happy with this team, it's just a matter of the frosh learning to fight it out instead of hoping someone else takes care of it.

HF, 1-5 on the SEC road, lost 3 of last 4 and the only team in the Top 25 with 7 losses...Ky is not a Top 25 team IMO...There will be no tournament games played at Rupp so the road problem that worries you should worry you...Away from Rupp, Kentucky is VERY beatable by anybody...And IMO #22 is still TOO high...

They are also at #9 in the RPI, which is higher than Nova, Syracuse, Gtown, UConn, and Louisville, which are all ranked higher. They have wins over 4 ranked teams, 4 losses to ranked teams (although two of those teams go in and out of the rankings). Also, polls are subject to the voters using reason as well. Most people would agree that a 7 loss Kentucky team is still better than a 3 or 4 loss mid-major, hence the reason they are still in the polls. Once you get to #17 or #18, the rankings are really a crap shoot from week to week.

I don't disagree with anything you said in terms of the team or ability, but the ranking still makes sense in the big picture. Fact is, it means very little.

The "home-court" advantage that follows KY everywhere will push that team further in the tournament than they would otherwise go, unless the Selection Committee places them in a "road" situation, like last year's Cornell game.

Ky fan is right, rankings mean nothing anymore. I am not even sure you have to do well in your conference tournament with the NCAA tourney so large now. You have six guys and a ball,, you're in!
