Most people seem to think Kentucky is NIT bound. Do they need to win the SECT in order to get into the NCAAT? Or if they beat #20 ranked LSU today and Florida loses early, but Kentucky still doesn't win the SECT, do they get in? I think Kentucky's resume is stronger than Georgia's last year, so they might not be in the "win it all to get in" situation. Perhaps two more wins could vault them over Florida to get that NCAAT bid.

The only reason Georgia got in last year was because they won the SECT. Kentucky has to win it to get in as well.

I'm not certain, but I don't believe UGA's resume got them in the tourney.

Right. You misunderstood what I meant. I meant that as: Gerogia had to win to get in last year but Kentucky might not be in the same boat because Kentucky's resume is stronger.

Of course their resume is stronger, they have a winning record.

If they were competing for an at-large bid against last year's Georgia team, that might be relevant. They aren't.

They have an RPI in the mid-70s, finished 4th in the SEC east, and have only a couple of decent wins that are outweighed by some just plain horrible losses. USC and Florida might belong in the bubble conversation. Kentucky, who sports an RPI about 30 points lower and finished behind both, does not.

I just hope the ballots for SEC Player of the Year are made public so anyone stupid enough to vote for Jodie Meeks ahead of Marcus Thornton is exposed.

Yep, it looks like the original point is moot at this point (13 point LSU lead)

Ditto on the ballots being made public

Thornton got the best of him on the court today.
