So I asked this question on TOS:

"If Rivals evaluated Kerbyson and Posey as OG's (where they're going to play in college) instead of OT's would that change their star rating?"

and Hubbs responded with:

"That's a good question...I'm not sure...I'll ask the guys at Rivals who determine these rankings"

I haven't heard back from him yet but I thought I would pose the question over here as well...

I personally think Kerbyson would be a mid 4 (likely a 5.9) if they thought of him as a OG...he'd easily be in the top 10 of that position

I feel like Posey would likely be a lower 4 star (5.8)...

On a side note...if you feel like responding to this post with "who cares about stars" or "stars don't matter" or something along those lines then please don't responsd at all

I believe that they might be a little higher, plus I heard Kerbyson was already a 4star

Kerbyson's a 4 on Scout...Posey's a 4 on ESPN...both are high 3's (5.7's) on Rivals...

This in no way effects my opinion of them as players...I think they're both going to be excellent guards for us regardless of where Rivals ranks them...

But I also like to be ranked as high as possible in the recruiting rankings too...call me competitive but I also like it because:

1. It generally means we are getting very good players

and

2. It gives the appearance that we're still a top program...which helps us land future highly rated recruits (great players want to play with great players)

Stars are everything to me in recruiting. Otherwise, we have no battle. Takes to long to really determine who wins the recruiting war. So, stars for me, is the ultimate rush.

I don't do anything without consulting the stars.

Seriously, I would rather their stars stay at 3. Which means---OMG----SHHH---I don't care about the stars.

Can I raise my head now?

The only stars that matter are the ones I'll be seeing once we beat Florida tomorrow...

Stars can't hurt...I'm pretty sure Florida, Texas, and Alabama would agree....just saying.....

Kerbyson should be a four star from what I've seen out of Rivals in the past. He is a great recruit regardless of what he is rated evidenced by the elite programs pursuing him. In other words, stars don't matter.

who cares about stars

other recruits do. this irritates me when people start this stuff. perception is reality and perticually in this day in age. kids want to go where other "high profile guys" are going...it doesint mean everything but its pretty damn important when you are trying to build momentum in recruiting...

We always think OUR players deserve more stars. As if every other schools' fans don't think they're own recruits deserve more.

Let them rank them where they're going to rank them.
