Where will he end up?

First he was being traded to the Celtics for half their active roster.

Then he was going to the Lakers in a four team trade that made no friggin' sense for the T'Wolves (Garnett for Stoudemire? Although I think they might've ended up with Boston's #5 pick in that scenario).

Now the latest rumor is he's going to Phoenix with Shawn Marion heading to Boston and Boston's #5 pick going to Minnesota.

I heard Boston was the team to pull out of the potential blockbuster.

Two things remain certain.

1. Minnesota continues to be a complete failure to KG, who could very well have been the best big man of this era. Or at least on the level with Duncan.

2. Kobe is going to get help from better players. Whether or not it will be on the Lakers is the question.

It looks like KG will be in Phoenix but you never know what might happen with so many teams involved. I even read the Hawks might get Stoudemire and send their picks (3 and 11) to the T'Wolves.

I was just thinking that Nash isn't going to be playing at the level he is right now for too much longer. If they want to win a title in the next year or two Garnett would make sense short term.

Good point. It appears they feel that there window of opportunity for a championship is within the next 2-3 years, but I still wouldn't be giving up Amare for KG.

Garnett is a better defensive player and would match up better with Tim Duncan.

JZVOL nails it. Their window to win a championship is not very wide; they've got to do what they can to win while Nash is still playing at a championship level. If Garnett gives them a better chance to win a title than Stoudemire over the next couple of years (and I think he does), then the Suns have to try to make that deal.

I understand what you're saying and agree that there window is very small, but I would be hesitant before trading Amare because he's going to be good for a long time.

I agree that he will be good for a long time but in a few years Marion and Nash won't be.

I've saw some 3 and 4 team trades that have Marion leaving and the Suns getting KG. It would be much better for them if they could possibly make one of those type trades so they can keep KG and Amare.

Is there a 3 way trade that sent KG to the Suns and Amare to Atlanta and a 3rd and 11th pick to the wolves?

Yea I heard about that on the radio. There are so many rumors that who knows what will happen.

I've been hearing that. But I've also heard the Hawks dealing the #11 pick for Luke Ridenour; and the Hawks dealing both picks to the T-Wolves for Garnett. :dunno:

Either way, I'm going to be surprised if the Hawks make it to Thursday with both the 3 and 11 picks . . . . Actually I'm praying that the Hawks don't make it to Thursday with either pick. Those guys just suck at drafting.

That's what it sounds like. I would love to be a fly on the wall at Kobe's house. I don't know why they won't part with Bynum when Kobe is at the top of his game right now?

If they don't get KG then they may as well trade Kobe and start over. Phil Jackson's a great coach and I know he wouldnt want to rebuild, but right now the Lakers aren't very good at all and the West continues to get tougher.

The only possible argument is that Garnett plays defense. But it's hard to justify dealing a player like Amare for a guy who is almost 10 years older.

thats what im saying, Garnett probably only has a few more good years in him, and Amare probably has like 15

That would put Amare at 39 and he already has had severe knee problems. He won't be playing at 39. Again it just depends if they feel KG gives them the better chance to beat the Spurs in the short term while Nash is still playing at a high level. Who knows what the Suns will look like when Amare is 28 or 29. They have to win in the next two years or they will blow this team up and start over. Ask Kobe how the rebuilding is going.
