While watching some of the Vandy Marquette game last night the way the teams look on the floor it is obvious Vandy is a well polished, organized coached team while the Vols are a team disorganized and poorly prepared. As the games go by the wins against Nova and Pitt seem to be more as a result of our lucky outside shooting. Well, at least that's the way I see it.

They are a pretty good coached team. But by the time these 2 meet we will be clicking on all 8 cylinders. It is going to be a challenge to play them there just like it always is, but I believe that the only team we are going to split the series with this year is going to be Kensucky. Pruely because Rupp is one of the hardest places to go and get a win. GO VOLS!!

TN not well coached? Are you fricking kidding me? Where have you been the last 6 years. You need to follow another team leave us alone. Stop posting this crap! Pearl owns a winning record against 90% of the teams in our conference and TN is the winningest team in the conference over the past 6 seasons. The game agains Pitt and Villanova was similar in that we played great defense and shot the ball well. This team is talented but lacks the offensive cohesion needed to be great but I assure you it will be developed during the season. As far as Stallings and Vandy goes who gives a crap.

right now this team in jekyl and hyde.. defense and offensive momentum were with the team for 5 games and were totally missing for 5.. the team has potential but clearly the ones screaming for UT to be ranked top 5 early on were a bit ahead of themselves.... 3 bad losses on the resume and 2 pretty good wins... and the other wins were meaningless.... its still December and the vols have a shot at most games they will play from here out if they can find their defensive intensity again.. that is where games are won and lost.

the problem is still steven pearl seeing significant minutes...He started last night in place of tobias harris. I understand harris missed two practices (only because of weather), but steven pearl should never see playing time, much less start. Look at his stat line, they were all filled with 0's other than his two assists. Maymon, kenny hall, and fields need significantly more playing.

Pearl does bring about leadership on the court... His talent is 2% of the rest of the guys but his heart is 1000% more than all of them.
Not saying he should start, and I believe in many instances he does play too much...
but you cannot deny he brings a lot to the team...ala Dane years ago.....

You cant even compare steven pearl to dane... dane was a team leader and produced. Steven pearl does nothing but slow this team down. A big heart should not determine playing time. Bruce needs to realize that his son's playing time is keeping this team from its potential

Lets put Hubert in or Summitt if we are going to play off Heart.... Heart my get it done in High School but Heart will get you beat by Oakland, Charlotte, USC

S. Pearl was not even the 1st pick at the bubble when he used to make appearances and played the pg spot the entire time... I get he was trying to improve his ball handling skills but come on

You are not wrong. This team can do great things. And yeah who cares about Vandy or Kevin. I swear I don't understand some of the postings on here. I thought this Forum was called VOLNATION. Not VANDYNATION or UKCOUNTRY. WTH? If you like those teams or would like to talk about them feel free to leave this site and go to theirs and have a blast talking about it there. Leave the true VOL fans alone here.

I'd certainly rather have a Kevin Stallings coached team on the floor than a Bruce Pearl coached team. Incidentally Stallings had agreed to be the UT coach and was in the middle of contract negotiations when Dickey turned around and offered Tim Floyd. Stallings said he wasn't going anywhere he wasn't first choice and we got Jerry Green instead. Now we've got Dale Brown...ooops, I mean Bruce Pearl.

I see your point. Especially this year. Stallings appears to have a polished team. I think we beat them at home though. Vandy will be a tough out for anybody this year. GBO!!!

You are out of your freakin mind! Stallings over Pearl? Your man Stallings has yet to even win the SEC east. Additionally, Stallings has yet to make it past the sweet 16. Bruce has 4 sweet 16 appearances and an elite 8. Plus SEC east title, SEC regular season championship. You are showing your ignorance.

...while recruiting at Vandy, which is a much much much tougher gig.
