Haven’t heard this guy mentioned much around here he did pretty well at A&M and is a decent recruiter along with being familiar with the SEC. Would he be a good hire and fit for us ? What are y’all’s guys thoughts on him as a coach? And is a guy like him about the best we can do at UT now?

Sumlin is the guy I wanted to hire instead of Kiffin. He's not exactly lighting the Pac12 on fire at Arizona though.

There is a reason for that

I’ve made my feelings towards Tom Herman known, but if take him in a second over Sumlin.

Sumlin hasn't shown he can do much without a Manziel type. The PAC 12 isn't even good and he's struggling. I was hoping to get him over Pruitt when we hired him, but he honestly hasn't even done well at Arizona. Tough school to play football, but still.

It’s reasonable to assume that Sumlin would be better than Dooley, Butch and Pruitt though right? I know that’s not saying much

I don’t think he had any interest in us last coaching search. He did a decent job at A&M, but his team at Arizona has a longer losing streak than us. I’d pass unless we had an opening and were down to a shortlist like we had last go round.
