Tennessee

1. Show up and be Tennessee. You have superior talent, excellent coaching.

2. Minimize Kentucky's special teams play. Kick the ball past the endzone on kickoffs. Punt out of bounds. Defend well on field goal tries.

3. Grind it out. Kentucky's weakness is against the run.

Kentucky

1. Hope for a flat Volunteer team to come sleepwalking into Commonwealth Stadium.

2. Win the turnover battle by holding onto the ball, and capitalize on any mistakes that the Vols might make.

3. Get Rafael Little into open space and let him work.

What do you think?

I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head,UT needs to show up & be UT for a change and we are gonna grind it out with foster even though i would like to see em open it up a little,Then again our wr's & qb haven't done anything to hang our hats on this year so we are going to grind it out and hopefully our Def shows up!

agreed! tennessee must get ahead early and dominate up front! dont let the athletic quarterback run around all day either. Must contain him and contain the screens to the RB

Look, we're gonna lose. Half of our coaches don't care because they aren't gonna be here anymore, the players(except for a select few)could give 2 craps, and we have 2 loser QB's and recievers with their arms cut off....Plus there is no incentive.
Also, losing to SC and Vandy has desensitized them to losing games like this.

I have to disagree. This team, albeit a disappointment this year, is still the proud Volunteers. Some of these players no they are strapping it on for the last time and they don't want to be remembered as the team that fell to Kentucky and Vandy in the same year.

I believe our guys will come onto the field with blood in their eyes.

It doesn't matter. Week after week, it's the same crap, same mistakes, same screw ups, same poor coaching. This team hates eachother and their coaches....and theirselves.

I know it has been a disappointing season at best, but out of respect to the players who are really putting forth the effort and care about the fans and the university, we need to pull together one last time this season. I am disappointed as anyone on this board, but we owe it to the ones who really care about winning this game. Maybe, just maybe, we may see the UT of old. Go Vols.

For UK

1. Have Vols not show up

For UT

1. Start Cooter at QB

2. Let Summitt give pre-game "Pep Talks" while football coaches sit in the corner in their boxers, tied to chairs, with those Pulp Fiction ball-gags in their mouths so players know she's serious

3. Station staff, trainers and students all around the field wearing t-shirts with pictures of Fulmer looking frightened and the legend, "Don't Make Me Call Your Mother" underneath.

All we have to do is show up. We're Tennesse! Just throw a helmet out there.

Seriously if we show up with a mind set to just play and execute we can win but we've not done that in a long time.

I don't know what to think anymore....this whole season has been like a trip to bizarro world...how in the world did we beat LSU? and why in the world could we not beat Vandy? nothing makes any sense on paper this team should be walkin' the dog not screwin' the pooch.

It's been interesting to watch the last few years in the KY/TN high school all-star game. While most players stay in-state, some do defect out of state. In that respect, Kentucky's been producing some better talent of late, evidenced by winning the last few in the series.

Tennessee just showing up may not win the game for them, I'm afraid. If they show up lackadaisical, and allow UK an early lead, the crowd at Commonwealth will be loud.

It will be interesting to see if Kentucky's decimated front line can withstand UT's running game. At one point this season, we had 3 of 4 d-linemen in casts.

Kentucky's X-Factor will rely on QB Woodson getting the ball to Keenan Burton or Rafael Little. Both have explosive speed, and can burn you real quick. The difficulty is that Woodson has a dinged-up left thumb, Little is banged up pretty good, and Burton is still getting back to speed after breaking his foot in the second game of the season.

I would like to believe that some of the UT seniors will have enough pride to show up and play hard in their last game, and Foster will certainly show up and play hard, because the kid seems to actually (gasp) enjoy playing football and is making the most of the opportunity he's been given. I just hope he's got something left in the tank after carrying the ball 40 times against Vandy. Regardless of who the QB is, I don't see UT passing the ball more than 15 times in this game, unless they fall behind early by more than 7 (which is quite possible, seeing as how it happened in both the Memphis and Vandy games, and the Cats have proven throughout the year that they can put some points on the board at times)

Still, we can't discount the Cats' motivation as well: this is their bowl game, a chance to snap a long losing streak to UT, and a chance to end their season on a positive note by (correct me if I'm wrong, McCat) winning three of their last four. They should have all the confidence in the world - they were up 41-10 on Vandy at one point, hung on to win, Vandy beat UT, why would they not believe they can win the game? Sometimes that's all it takes.

It would be a chance to win 3 of the last 5. Besides beating Vandy, we beat MSU. Then we ran into that Georgia and Auburn buzzsaw.

No offense, but if we win, you'll probably see me helping to pull down one of the goalposts. It's been 21 years since we beat the Vols.

I honestly don't know what kind of team we'll see on both sides of the ball tomorrow. Let's hope for a hard-played game on both sides, rather than one team mailing it in.

If you win, congrats. This year is likely going to be your best opportunity for a while. If its going to happen, it might as well happen this year because we can't really get any lower. We're numb and desensitized.

The same could have been said last week against Vandy. Truth is, this team has too many bad apples who don't care about Tennessee, and those that do care (the defense) act like they have given up. There is no pride left in this team.

I think Tennessee has enough players on the team that have enough heart and Tennessee Pride, that are winners. I'll admit, a few negative players (or is it ego's) can be detrimental, especially to the young. I think the fewest trunovers wins the game today. Tennessee should use this game as a spring-board into 2006 season. I'm thinking positive!

This means so much to UK. I pray my Wildcats can pull it off. We have let UT off the hook recently in a few other close games and I pray this is the one that ends this embarrasing streak.

I understand your point, but, UK kicks UT in basketball so much, it would be BAD to lose in football as well, almost criminal.
:dunno:
