Pretty interesting article...

Ventre: Kiffin already a lame-duck coach under Haden - College football- nbcsports.msnbc.com

The problem for Kiffin is that Pat Haden is taking over for Garrett next month as athletic director. And Kiffin and Haden are about as compatible as British Petroleum and the Sierra Club.

Based on the current results of the poll, there must be a lot of Vol fans participating...

Total of 2,736 votes
7.3% (200 votes) - Yes -- USC will win multiple titles with Kiffin as coach and Haden as A.D.
18.3% (500 votes) - Sort of -- the Trojans will have some success before the two part ways
71.3% (1,952 votes) - No -- Kiffin will be gone before long.
3.1% (84 votes) - No -- Haden will lose the power struggle and be outta there.

Some of the comments included below the poll are quite humorous...

Kiffen will be convicted of a road rage homicide after he says, "That nun had it coming."

what a stupid article. haden was instrumental in bringing kiffin to SC.

Not according to the article, which I tend to agree with. I'm not saying Haden may not like Kiffin, but I don't think he would have been supportive of how everything transpired.

If Haden had been on the job when Pete Carroll departed, he would not have hired Lane Kiffin, despite Haden’s recent pronouncement that “He is my coach, and I love my coach.”

Haden wouldn’t have wanted his alma mater to be engulfed in the brouhaha that resulted from stealing Kiffin away from Tennessee after one season; that’s not Haden’s style. He also wouldn’t have wanted a coach who has public feuds with other coaches or schools. In the SEC, when personalities mud-wrestle, it’s just part of doing business. To Haden, it’s mud-wrestling.

Haden supported kiffin, all the big sc boosters know it. This guy is guessing.

When asked, "Do you think Kiffin is the coach to bring USC back?" Haden responded, "He's my coach."

yeah, that doesn't seem like he favors him too much IMO.

It probably is a blessing to USC that things shook out the way they did and they landed clown Kiffin as HC. What if someone on the USC desired coaching list with USC connections had taken the job, not having investigated the violations situation thoroughly or maybe assuming that USC wouldn't be thrown in the sanctions meatgrinder, and then the NCAA shoe fell. That coach would be wanting out immediately. As it turns out, USC has a potential throwaway coach who has been less than successful and can mind the store for a couple of years, while Haden looks for someone who is successful and might take the job knowing that the sanctions will soon be lifted. Maybe the best scenario for USC actually happened, not to mention UT being rid of the SC "bandito," Kiffin, a major violation coach just waiting to happen.

Kiffin can coach and his assistants can coach, just look at the games against Bama and Florida last year. He'll get fired for something he does off the field. He has better talent at SC and a second year QB. He'll probably win the Pac 10 this year, but i'd love it if he fell on his face. It's not likely though.

I don't think USC will win while he's there. The other teams are better as well. I know nobody thinks he's better than Carrol. He will have a Ron Zook type tenure at USC. He will spend 3-4 years loading them up for the next guy. I also think the refs will eat USC up. Bad call here bad call there. Nobody likes Kiffin. We would have beaten Bama if not for the 9-1 in penalties. But I also have to believe that Kiffin was down on the field being an ass to the refs which make them turn on you subconscously ( can't spell lol). His personality is way different from Carrols. Under Carrol everyone wanted to see the party. Kiffin is a party pooper.

You may have a good point there. The guy seems self destructive. Recruiting is the life blood of your team. Other teams are going to negatively recruit against Kiffin for being who he is. Bad part is it seems to be justified.

Look at his record last season compared to the previous season as well as expectations this coming season. Kiffin did nothing more (actually less) from a coaching prespective than his predecessor who was (rightfully) dismissed.
