I know we are tired of Kiffin threads, but I thought this was worth mentioning...

With that said, Kiffin has yet to sign ONE recruit at "Powerhouse" USC while Dooley has been on an absolute roll at UT! Does this mean Kiffin is having trouble getting signatures at USC? Does it mean parents don't trust the slime ball and won't let there kids go there?! ....or am I just reading too much into this?

What are your thoughts/comments on this?

you are reading too much into it, he has a ridiculous class that was already there and he will pull some big sigs on NSD. Hopefully not at our expense but I doubt it.

Really? We believe they'll bust in NSD and our roll will pay off more.

That's a stretch.

I doubt he's having problems right now. After USC gets a TV and bowl ban (hopefully) and Kiffin's "reputation" continues to grow, I could see the next few years being tougher than normal for USC.

Kiffin likes the big splash, wait till signing day, and there after for that matter.

He is probably telling people to wait til NSD. Look for Ambles to be the only one he steals from UT. I think Riley will end up there. I don't think Dooley is recruiting him at UT but CLK was pretty hard.

Recruits cant "sign" until Feb. 3 lol (im sure you knew that". Im sure he has some silents.

That's a good point... Slime Ball Coach + Impending Program Probation --> Grim Program Outlook --> Not a high profile recruiting class as usual

Sorry hate to say it Arsenal but Kiffin will probably pull some big names before NSD (Ambles is one apparently he made big buddies with Kyle Prater at the All-Star game). The Trojans are ranked ahead of us on Rivals--they really didn't lose anyone significant. We are going to pull our share of recruits. James Stone is a kid we would not have gotten had Kiffin been here. The name obviously to watch is Da'rick Rogers. I hope we get that guy....

...but not ONE recruit? Not even a 3-star commit? I don't think things at USC (recruiting-wise) are a peachy as everyone thinks!

I agree about Riley and Ambles!

Who thinks UT will be ranked HIGHER than USC when its all said & done? I personally think they'll finish close, but it would make my year to beat Kiffin & Co. in this battle!

As much as I hope it does, and believe me, I hope the Hammer comes down hard on USC, don't be surprised if they don't get the Harsh penalty we all want so bad for them. I will not be shocked if they recieve a small slap on the wrist.

I really don't think it's happening---however let's just remember that Pete Carroll basically put the class together for Kiffin----IF that guy isn't that ultimate glommer I don't know who is. I still think USC finishes ahead of us----but really does that matter? USC is going to get slapped later on in February...and I'm a huge college football fan and observer--but to me the talent gap is getting closed by other "brand" schools and OUR brand is going to go up at Tennessee!

Based on the NCAA's past history, I would normally be inclined to strongly agree with you. HOWEVER, why, on God's green earth, would Pete Carroll suddenly decide to leave the juggernaut he built for the Seattle Seahawks if he didn't think the NCAA hammer was about to drop with a resounding thud on the Trojans?

There has not been a public commit in the two weeks the coaches have been there. Clearly they are gathering silents. As someone mentioned, looking for a big 'splash' on NSD.

Would love to see it, but there is next to no chance of ranking higer than usc for 2010. But really who cares, CDD is doing a really good job out there and we are going to have very possibly a Top 8 class.

Money and control. That excludes the fact that his boss was a clown.

I agree with NaughtyDogs.....Dooley is closing strong. As for Carroll Volosaurus--it's the lure of the NFL---his first go around didn't go so well and he a true competitor always wants to compete at the highest level--I also think that it had a little to do with what is is going to come down the pike as far as the NCAA sanctions (minor or not).

I like what Dooley has done so far---and if we pull Rogers and a few other surprises I would venture to say that we've got some forward momentum going for the program (not that we didn't have any before). I like how Dooley took this job and went after it.....he didn't just sit on his hands....

Read the weekly whispers on Rivals today. Very depressing. They think USC gets EVERYBODY. Im not saying that means they actually do but they seem to be in it with every top guy.

I do see Big O A's point. All Kiffin and Co. have done is keep USC's commited class together. I think part of the reason for that though is he had been recruiting some of those players while at UT and had a bit of a relationship with some of them. I mean he was in on Scroggins, Prater, Uko, Wright, Baxter that we know of. But look at who he is going after now. Even though he said when he went to USC he wouldn't recruit UT prospects unless they called him first that has turned out to be a bunch of bull$hyte. He is going after UT recruits and also players that we thought he was settling for while at UT. He, or Coach O, have paid visits to Rajion Niel, apparently stopped in on the Nances (a QB he had no interest in bringing to UT),Eddrick Loften...to name a few. He has the USC brand and that All-Star staff there and yet he is recruiting 3* prospects from the southeast. You would think with all that going for him he would be pulling Seantral Henderson and maybe getting UF prospects to reconsider. BUT HE'S NOT! I'm not naive enough to think USC will not land their share of top notch athletes, but maybe, just maybe, Kiff and Co. are struggling a bit with credibility and NCAA sanctions possibly looming - time will tell

Nahhhh V.O.P. Hades is a little too good for Kiffin and Orgeron.......I think they are RIGHT where they need to be....what's that old phrase--"what goes around comes around"....those who do dirty get it in the end!

Dooley is blazing a trail recruiting....you can't help but have a good feeling if you are hardcore Vol!
