Because while he's not here anymore, he's still relavant. I'm not sure why people want to put blinders on and pretend that we never had anything to do with him.

Beyond that, his name was in the title of the thread. It's not like you clicked on it not knowing what it was going to be about. You don't want to hear about Kiffin, then don't click on a thread that has Kiffin in the title.

This whole "can't talk about Kiffin" movement is retarded. Makes us look like a bunch of babies. Its better to talk about him, than pull the "coach x" or telling people not to talk about him.

Want to know the best way to fight the Kiffin talk on here? Not replying.

I think he is fun to watch to see how long it takes for him to implode. I used to bite my tongue every time he opened his mouth when he was here. It is like driving by a car wreck. You just have to look.

People will continue hoping ill for X, O and USC because of the way he left Tennessee high and dry in the middle of the night. It's like a bad break up...part of the coping process is being pissed at the girl who dumped you for awhile, then you eventually let it go. That can take months...X left 3 weeks ago.

You comparing Kiffin to Fulmer and Majors is about as dumb as it gets... For those who can't move on that Kiffin isn't here any more I'm sure there is room on the USC board for you to go talk about him there.

This is about right, imo. Nicely said. People 'grieve' in different ways. Some want to tick-a-lock and try and forget he ever existed here, and that's fine...but some don't! Some still want to b*tch and poke fun or maybe are still coming to grips with what happened..thinking aloud. I submit that those who ask or expect that his name never again be uttered at VN, aren't thinking very realistically, and I'm pretty sure this is not a "majority rules" board. Often times, the bad, morbid or regrettable things are remembered, dissected and discussed longer than good things. Like it or not, for some, he's gone but not forgotten.

Imho, as in other topics, "if you don't like it, don't read it" should be the prevailing practice here.

The Kiffin thing is great, it gives us something to talk about. I think we should all just sit back and enjoy this moment in UT football. Stuff like this certainly doesn't happen all the time, especially at such a prestigous university.

I compared the Kiffin thing to being at the alter with a wonderful women who other people found mental but you still loved and accepted, etc. This women had a great family (coaching staff) and everything appeared to be great. Then this women leaves you at the alter and runs away with everyone for the lame ex-boyfriend. Btw, the comparison of Kiffin to a women was done on purpose, the guy is a sociopath.

It's Dooley time now. My distain for USC only grows.

Agreed! People have been bashing Fulmer and all that man did was give his everything to the university. Kiffin blows, we all know it, but I'd rather bash him than someone who was true to TN.

Funny how 15 months changes perspectives. Much of this board view Kiffin as superior to Fulmer and Majors just 9 months ago. Ho hum.
