Kiffin Puts Finebaum in a Bodybag!

I don't mind the Kiffin takedown, but Finebaum was far from the only person saying those sorts of things about Kiffin while he was at USC. Kiffin's reputation was hard-earned at that point in his life.

I don't for a second think Finebaum couldn't have fired back with a few things. "I'm good at keeping my job" would have been a great escalation. But Paul is a good company soldier, and moreover, is almost never confrontational or aggressive in interviews, so - had to tuck that tail and take it on the chin. There was no world where he would, or even could, have said anything serious back.

Can’t stand either one of these guys. But glad Kiffin put Paul in his place. That’s funny.

I was going to say, this is what it’s like watching two enemies tear at each other. This must be how it felt when Germany invaded the USSR. Are we going to have to go in there to save Finebaum?

Lane just recently lost his dad too, so I’m sure that may have played a part in his response. Not in the mood for Paul’s needling.

Absolutely not. PF is a snake and has forgot who where he went to school. I have quit listening to that talking head.

Kiffin is a PR machine. No one outside of Alabama like Finebaum and he’s just moving the needle. But yall will never stop hating

I am amazed at you dbags who think liking Kiffin somehow doesn't make you a true Vol.

I have choice words for you but again I digress...

Creating an external locus of attention is always a smart psych move.
I always wished Fulmer had the makeup to do something similar with the program during the showdown years with Spurrier.

Fulmer publicly acted like the Florida game was business as usual. He should have begun every season with the mission of taking down Florida and their coach. Do it inside the building; create focus and determination. I know the staff did this, sort of, but not very effectively. We had a playoff game every September with the Gators and rarely seemed ready. We got smoked from the drawing boards to the underclassmen backups in the secondary that Spurrier always watched for and exploited while Fulmer and Chavis watched.

You don't have to do it in public. That is one approach, and I suspect Kiffin is setting up a "no respect" campaign in his locker room.

Kiffin screwed us over and everyone who was paying attention knows it. Calling rational people 'dbags' speaks volumes about your assessment of character.

Please, keep digressing and spare yourself from further humiliation.

Good lord get over the Kiffin hate man. Every last one of you would have done the exact same thing. Every last one of you. If you were a head coach at USC and Tennessee called to offer you your dream job? You're gone. Period. Especially being that young... I was angry for a long time until I got older and realized how many stupid selfish decisions I made when I was younger.

No Kiffin fan, but Finebaum is a talking head and not making any real football decisions for a reason. His opinion is about as accurate as anyone you could pull out of any stadium on a given Saturday and I'm not sure that he doesn't just say controversial things to stir up ratings. He is still running around singing Deion's praises.

For me, it wasn't him going to USC, it was the manner in which he did it. He made efforts to burn UT on his way out.
