As I’ve said, he’s been streaky at FAU. That means some good, some bad. Overall, he’s 25-13 there. That’s not exactly amazing. His FAU team has lost to the likes of Buffalo, Middle Tennessee, La Tech, North Texas, Charlotte and Marshall. And he’s racked up wins against the likes of FIU, Wagner, West Kentucky and Old Dominion. There’s your facts.
So if you wanna call 25-13 at FAU an indicator that he’s a winner, and that 25-13 at FAU offsets the fact that he wrecked three different programs who are still trying to recover from his tenure, then go for it.
At USC his QB coach was Clay Helton.
I’ll slow it down: he can easily put together a staff of great and proven assistants, aka an all-star staff, regardless of who he has “waiting for him,” and in fact he has done it every single time he’s had a job in a major conference.
Was that before or after he was fired from USC? The greatest coach in the history of mankind with the greatest staffs has been fired twice and has never won a conference championship at a Power 5 conference. Clay Helton is now a great coach? He does have a better record at USC than Lane, I will give you that.
You’re either intentionally avoiding the point or being ridiculously dense, because said point is very simple: he can hire a good staff of assistants to Ole Miss. So far you’ve claimed that his good assistants were all his friends (obviously untrue), that you need to have a staff of assistants waiting for you in order to hire a good staff (just dumb), and now that saying he can hire a good staff means I’m saying he’s THE GREATEST COACH WITH THE GREATEST STAFFS EVER. You don’t need to be; just take a smidge less money for yourself and pay your staff a little extra, which is generally what he’s done.
Wow the Hate runs deep Huh? The facts are He turned FAU around in YEAR ONE, and just won the CUSA Championship by rolling UAB. He played the schedule someone else made, and won with basically someone elses' players. Geeze yall need to let the hate go. LK can coach; and we will see it at Ole Miss in a couple seasons. Will he stay at OM? No, he wants the bama job when Saban retires.
I'll go on record right now. Kiffin will not be successful at Ole Miss.
And I'll also predict that even that won't quell the inexplicable man-crush some fans seem to have for him.
His one year at Tennessee wasn't a train wreck (him leaving the way he did was the trainwreck). He got hosed at USC (they were under sanctions from Carroll). 64% career winning % isn't too terrible.“Rolling UAB.”
So I guess his amazing win over UAB supplants his amazing win over Southern Miss as his signature win at FAU?
I’ll never understand the segment of the Tennessee fan base who still swing from this guy’s nutsack. I think it’s a minority of UT fans but it’s a persistent bunch.
All the best to Kiffin at Ole Miss. I have no hate toward the guy, I actually like his moxie and offensive acumen. But as a head coach he has sucked. His pretty good, albeit streaky run at FAU does not offset the three train wrecks in his past.

I do not like Butch’s abilities. Certainly the back to back 9-4 seasons were misleading because of primarily Dobb’s dual threat skills. I believe Kiffin is flashy and more style over substance as far as HC is concerned. We will have to wait and see.Who is currently unemployed as a HC and has been so for the past 2 years?
Who is getting Saban coffee and who is winning conference championships?
