Kiffin to Ole Miss

Good post.

Someone has recently “somehow” transformed 4-7 into 10-3 and 10-2 in the SEC.

It wasn’t Lane Kiffin.

Florida went 4-7, but after consecutive SEC Championship appearances. I don't think 2017 Florida was really near rock bottom the way 2008 Tennessee was, though we obviously won the East in '07.

As I’ve said, he’s been streaky at FAU. That means some good, some bad. Overall, he’s 25-13 there. That’s not exactly amazing. His FAU team has lost to the likes of Buffalo, Middle Tennessee, La Tech, North Texas, Charlotte and Marshall. And he’s racked up wins against the likes of FIU, Wagner, West Kentucky and Old Dominion. There’s your facts.

So if you wanna call 25-13 at FAU an indicator that he’s a winner, and that 25-13 at FAU offsets the fact that he wrecked three different programs who are still trying to recover from his tenure, then go for it.

He’s done more in 3 seasons than the program did in 8 previous years. Winning two conference titles in 3 years at FAU is amazing indeed. Does that mean he’s guaranteed success in the Sec? No but he’s not the same coach that Tennessee and USC had either.

So you’re taking Mullen’s “SEC only” record, most of which was compiled in the SEC west versus the Bama dynasty, LSU and Auburn and comparing that to Kiffin’s overall record at FAU? Yeah, that’s fair! 😂

Dan Mullen is 20-5 at his second job and likely to achieve back to back NY6 Bowl games. Lane Kiffin was 7-6 at his second job, 28-15 at his third job, 25-13 at his fourth job.

If you would take Lane Kiffin as your head coach over Dan Mullen, you’d lose.
Every team plays better after receiving promises of "favors" from the coaches wife.

Here is your comment:

"25-13. Some of y’all have a lowered expectation of winning, apparently."

25-13 = 66% win record

Yet, you hired Uncle Eddie at 69-46; 60% win record

Have you been to a game at Ole Miss? Lane will be like a sugar starved kid in a candy store. Just hate he'll be sniffing around Memphis in recruiting. He'll probably do well at Ole Miss. Hope they roll on and off our schedule before he has a chance to build their roster back up.
I think we play then in 21 if I'm not mistaken.

That’s some dumb sh!t to say right there. I hate the Gators with a passion but to sit there and trash a coach’s wife is dumb as hell. I’d assume you wouldn’t like it someone threw out jabs at your spouse. Stay classy

A great fit. I dont hate Lane. Never did. It has been fun to watch him grow up and be humbled a little bit. He will be a force in recruiting. Guys loved to play for him. Kind of hoping this isnt true.
He can't keep a job 4 years that would allow anyone to pinpoint a level of success he'd have using his own players. He had success under Saban and I think one good year at USC. Other than that mediocre unless you count 1st year at FAU.
I wonder who's gonna run his defense. They will be all over O.Thomas from the git-go.

I don't know if I would let my wife suck face with every team member before every game like he does, just sayin.

Yeah, minimum success at a small program. Born on 3rd base and dosen't know it at all.
Yet, people love the hype!
I would love a chance to play him and hope he give satan issues.

But you used Mullen’s overall record, mostly from the toughest division of the toughest conference in America, but only used Kiffin’s FAU record.

Throw in Kiffin’s overall career 65-49 and you have a win % of .570.

If you wanna just use Kiffin’s current win % in his current job, okay fine. Mullen’s win % in his current job is .800 (20-5).

So Mullen has a better overall career win %, a better win % at his first and second job, and a better win % at his current job.

Any other questions?

Kiffin has done really well at FAU. All non P5 schools will play atleast 2 games a year against teams they are over matched, those almost are certain losses. His record should be viewed through this lens.
