Kiffin to Ole Miss

The real question, does Lane do a call in show like he did at Bama. Can't call it Kiffin's Krimson Korner, sadly.

Won’t take long. Another question is which happens first; Saban retires or Kiffin is fired.

I think both can happen within the next 3-4 years.

Not if Ole Miss is bowling year in and year out. They fired Luke for not doing that.

I’d be shocked if he brought more than 2 coaches from FAU. I’d try to build an all-star staff again, though I doubt Ole Miss will spend as much on it as we did.
I don't agree. It's a trend to bring in big name assistants such as LSU did with their new OC from the Saints. Us with Chaney and Ansley. Gotta spend to win.....just the nature of the game. I'm sure OM is well aware of it.

Rumor is Mike Norvell is going to FSU. Both he and Kiffin should be announced tommorrow. Good move to salvage recruiting.
If they hire Norvell they better do what Virginia Tech did when they hired Fuentes. Tell him “we are hiring the defensive coordinator”. Because that defense we’ve seen at Memphis would give up 70 points every game in the ACC!

But you used Mullen’s overall record, mostly from the toughest division of the toughest conference in America, but only used Kiffin’s FAU record.

Throw in Kiffin’s overall career 65-49 and you have a win % of .570.

If you wanna just use Kiffin’s current win % in his current job, okay fine. Mullen’s win % in his current job is .800 (20-5).

So Mullen has a better overall career win %, a better win % at his first and second job, and a better win % at his current job.

Any other questions?

In the original comment, you are the one who used Kiffin's 25-13 record.

Urban had a 39-9 record when Florida hired him. That is the type of hire you want. Or, an up and coming coordinator.

Hiring these 60-65% guys is just a shot in dark.

Mullen has tried eleven times to win a division title. He is 0-11.

These guys have it right.

It's time to officially fire up the head coaching search. Who you got?

As I’ve said, he’s been streaky at FAU. That means some good, some bad. Overall, he’s 25-13 there. That’s not exactly amazing. His FAU team has lost to the likes of Buffalo, Middle Tennessee, La Tech, North Texas, Charlotte and Marshall. And he’s racked up wins against the likes of FIU, Wagner, West Kentucky and Old Dominion. There’s your facts.

So if you wanna call 25-13 at FAU an indicator that he’s a winner, and that 25-13 at FAU offsets the fact that he wrecked three different programs who are still trying to recover from his tenure, then go for it.

Hate when I have to agree with a Florida fan

I hated hiring Kiffin from the get go, I thought he would leave after a couple of years with several NCAA violations in his wake. Even I was shocked at the way he left in the middle of the night after just one pretty mediocre season. Yay we won two more games than Fulmer's last, I would hardly call that "over achieving" and I expected more with the talent we had and all the bluster he put out in his press conference.

My favorite was when he left he inisisted he left us in a better place than he found us. What a load of BS, he took the car for a spin, crashed it into a tree and then bailed. Fulmer might have needed to go, but he didn't try to sabotage the program on his way out, nor did he leave us in probably the worst spot any team can be left in just weeks before NSD.

Kiffin always has been a con man. I don't buy the "he's matured" nonsense. Not with all the hijinks we've heard happened with Saban's daughter. He'll be back to sniffing around coeds and wives at Ol' Miss. Committing more violations and mouthing off without being able to deliver.

He will be a supernova at OM.....shine bright and cause rips in the space-time-continuum for a bit, then get canned for some "morals" reason and burn out.

As Thanos said, "It's inevitable."

I can't say that I blame Lane Kiffin:cool:

Those programs are “still trying to recover” because of complete incompetence in how they’re managed, not because of anything he did.

At a bad program, he won a conference title in year 1 and appeared in the title game again in year 3, sandwiched around a 5-7 season that I’m sure includes the vast majority of the bad losses you listed.

You really believe Kiffin ditching us after 1 season had nothing to do with our tailspin ever since? You're the only Tennesse fan I know who thinks that.

Who will be the coaches he brings with him? I don’t know why any of ours would want to leave, but as we know very well here with Lane you get splash! He’s going to want the best he can get. Do you think his dad comes back? Who’s his DC? Just wanted to get some takes and see what y’all think. Recruiting also probably just got a little harder...

He needs to hire Charlie Strong as his defensive coordinator and Mike Bobo as his offensive coordinator.

I dont necessarily agree that he’s not gonna be a good coach or with a gator fan. But I hope he’s right and he does awful there. Not wishing ill on him either; but the worse he does the better. For a UT fan anyway. Recruiting

He'll talk big, win less than what his mouth says, garner some excitement while recruiting punks and covering up bad behavior from his players and himself. The NCAA will come sniffing and he'll either make a run out of the back door or get canned.

Yet nothing is his previous 6-7 years of coaching has resulted in NCAA sniffing around. Amazing how many people think this.
