He was at Bama. He was at USC AFTER a major scandal and players getting paid..... this notion that he’s guaranteed to break NCAA rules because of a single season 10 years ago is hilarious.

He was at Alabama and then Florida Atlantic.

One is the darling of college football. The other no one cares about, particularly Saban.

Now that Kiffin will be coaching a team Saban has to play every year and probably going after the same recruits...well I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA take a bigger interest in Kiffin now.

You may very well be right. I disagree, but I'm all about giving CLK the benefit of the doubt. I love him being back in big-boy football, dont get me wrong. I hope he succeeds, I really do.

Time will tell. I just think the NCAA will have a microscope up his posterior for a while.

Yes. He is gonna be hilarious to watch in the West. Can’t wait for the Bama Ole Miss game in Oxford next October.

I'm telling ya, now if we can get Leach to take the Miss St. job. just imagine not only their presser but Saban's, the Finebaum show, Sec Inside, Sec Film Room...Dream sequence... Maybe when Trump is done running the world he can be Auburn's AD.

That was my first thought....but it's won't just be us imo..Memphis just got tougher to recruit for everyone.

ok. Interesting. Can't picture Ole Piss going this route again with violations but I guess anything is possible. They hire Kiffin and he hires his brother Chris and some of the other bad characters, the almighty NCAA will be parked in their backyard permanently just waiting for them to screw up or Bama will turn them in like they did with Freeze after Ole Piss started all of a sudden getting 4 and 5 stars recruits which was totally suspicious and everybody in the country knew they were cheating and they finally got caught.

Sure, we couldn’t punch it in against UCLA. And Dexter McClustered all over us.
And the bowl game.
But it wasn’t just the W/L record.
Vols were a blocked FG away from beating eventual national champs Bammer.
#1 ranked FL struggled against us.
We hadn’t been that competitive against top ranked teams for a while before; and haven’t since.

Haven't had as good a team as we did like that in a while either. Kiffin had a great roster and couldn't deliver half of what he promised, then he tried to burn the house down as he left.

Nothing you have said has changed anything I said. Kiffin underarchieved and then screwed us over.

If every Tennessee fan you know thinks Lane Kiffin leaving in (gasp!) January after a year made us nationally irrelevant for a full decade afterward, as opposed to things like hiring a coach who went 4-8 at Louisiana Tech, get smarter friends.

Kiffin had the same roster Fulmer sucked with the year before...
a terrible QB
slow LBs
and Eric Berry.
He got more out of them than Fulmer ever did.
