After each of the first TDs, they went for 2.. and failed both.

Then on the third TD, they acted as if they were about to go for it. But then they kicked the PAT.

Then with 28 seconds to go in the half, Minnesota was trying to run out the clock, he calls a Timeout. Wellllll then Minnesota has a couple long plays, setting up a long field goal to end the half. (they got it blocked) but still, dumb coaching. What are you gonna do with 20 seconds at the end of the half that would necessitate calling a Time out?

So he cost his team 2 points, then almost 3. just out of stupidity.

actually the jury is out on if he's a good coach period. half the cast of 'the ringer' could successfully coordinate those teams at usc.

Glad he's not here anymore...

But I'm guessing he's using this game like a practice and has really nothing to lose, so he's practicing two point plays, thinking he might need it in a close game later on. Just my guess.

lots of coaches call a TO to preserve time when it looks like they might get the ball back. It just happened in the ND/USF game too

not when theres 28 seconds on the clock. and after the team punts, youd get the ball, at best, the 25 with 20 seconds left.

yes they do. It was about 40 sec left in the ND game. It also makes the other team actually punt the ball which can force a mistake. You're reaching on that one

Looks like the "idiot" is ahead 19-3 at halftime.

Will he still have his job on Monday?

or u can muff the punt and the team gets the damn ball at the 10 like it happened in ND... its not smart football.

Geez, can you folks not see that he's just trying to lose enough games so they can draft Andrew Luck next year?

Kiffen. Workin' like heck.

i remember him calling a time out to save a little time against UCLA or someone that ended up costing us points... Anyone else remember for sure?

I think it was against Stanford, and they were down big in the last minute or so and called the timeout and Stanford took a shot downfield and scored, something like that
