For what it's worth, Mel Kiper has Justin Harrell going in the 1st round of the draft despite his injury.

Coupled with the fact that Tony McDaniel is playing a lot for the Jags, it sure would have been nice to have had them side by side with Turk and Mitchell at DE.

I hope all of our NFL DL are giving nice Christmas gifts to Dan Brooks and Steve Caldwell. Are there two position coaches doing a better job of producing NFL ready players?

Boy, you nailed it on that one. Those guys get very little publicity, but they do an incredible job.

If I were an NFL coach, those two guys would be high on my list of people to talk to about coaching my defensive linemen. Almost every DL who has played significant minutes under those two has at least gotten a look in the league.

They're probably still on our staff because the NFL can't match the salaries...

Well, he got suspended right about the time he was going to be a major contributor; and then because he couldn't play, opted for the NFL.

Also, look at the guys he was playing behind. Mahelona, Harrell, et al.

We've had a lot players that didn't necessarily get a lot of attention while here because they were overshadowed but were very good. Aubrayo Franklin, Rashad Moore, and some others come to mind.

Darwin Walker has started in the league for a handful of years, too.

Too bad we don't still have Haynesworth so he could stomp on Leak's head.

So, the DL we have in the NFL are:

Haynesworth
Henderson
Walker
Little
Ellis
Franklin
McDonald
Moore
Haralson
Mahelona

Did I see Omari Hand on a roster, too?

Anyway, who did I miss?

Were they healthy, you would have been adding Billy Ratliffe and Ron Green to that list.

Omari Hand (was, don't know where he is)
McDaniel (not McDonals)
Shane Burton
Demtrin Veal

In addition, Will Overstreet was going to start at OLB/DE until injuries.

IMO, his draft position will be determined by how he performs at the combine, i.e. bench press, shuttle run, etc. If he does well there, then he will go high, otherwise he won't.

He hasn't done enough this season to really help himself. Some teams may look at him as an injury risk. Bottom line, its too early to predict anyone's draft position.

Had "injuries" not stopped Wil Overrated, a lack of talent would have.

Let's not start this again, what do you say?
Not starting anything. Just making sure the fact that Wil Overrated was a talent deficient stiff who was made to look good by playing with great interior linemen doesn't get overlooked.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but the Falcons deemed him talented enough to start for them had he not gotten hurt.

How many of the front office/coaching staff involved in that decision still have jobs in Atlanta?

I'm assuming none since you brought it up. But hasn't Dan Reeves coached in like 3 or 4 Super Bowls?

In the context of the original discussion, however, I think we've all shown that our DL coaches and talent have been excellent; even sans Overstreet.

Yes, and even that good a resume couldn't overcome the stupidity of wasting a high round pick on Wil Overrated.

hat, I'm curious about something. What is the difference in the keyboard cowboys that call Jamal and Ray Ray "thugs" and your less than complimentary names for guys like Peyton or Will? You rail on about the aforementioned cowboys not being able to call Jamal and Ray those names to their face, but do you expect people to think you'd use your pet names for Peyton, Will, etc. to their face?
