ESPN is reporting that those are the two we are talking to. Smart might be a good hire but who knows? Jones may be the final nail in our coffin. JMHO.

I'd rather see Tuberville, Petrino, Tressell, Fedora, or Fulmer than Jones or Smart.

Jones = no SEC level HC experience
Smart = no HC experience PLUS a Sabanite

If Hart hires either Smart or Jones, he should be fired right along with Jimmy the Cheek.

If it's Jones, we won't see a top 50 recruiting class....ever. This program is going to go down in flames.

so we fire Derek Dooley then hire one of the guys that Dooley actually out coached. WTF. This administration is a joke at UT. Someone needs to clean house and start fresh. We will be doin this **** again in three more years if this guy is our coach.

No... no. Both are unproven.. it will be regrettable. I believe cinci is one of tje few wins dooley had. Smart is a defensive coorf. ... wake up people .. no no.. this is tennessee.

I'd be happy with either... Jones has improved his teams every year on a consistent basis both at Central Michigan or Cincinnati... Smart would be more risky hire here because he has no head coaching experience!

They Hire Smart and I will be done with UT, I will not pull for no one else but I will not pull against UT either. When Smart is gone then I will be back.

Maybe you should post about about which you know. Apparently you know very little about NCAA coaches.

Out coached my ass Dooley had way more talent and still couldn't pull away till late. At least this guy has a winning record 5 out of the 6 years he's coached and his players actually like and respect him.

We're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now.. Boy this Dave Hart is impressive.. Is it too late to see if he can hitch a ride back to Bama land with Dooley & Sal?

At this point, we are in desire need! Hopefully Hart will pull one out of his a**! The search keeps getting slimmer! Dooley can sit back, draw his fat check and laugh at everything going on! UT should sell itself, its a da** shame that we cant get a coach from the big 10! JMO Strong would have been a great fit, but maybe he was afraid to be a possible failure in the SEC! Who's next? This is really frustrating to a UT fan that bleeds orange!

Are you packing your bags? We have to hire a coach. This is just as it was three years ago when we hired Dooley; only difference is three years ago, we had only about two weeks before the National signing date. This year we have eight weeks. If we end up with Smart, I will support him because he is our coach. I will support any coach we hire until he is no longer our coach. If you are such a fair weather fan, then it may be best that you support another team, one which you can help made the decisions.

I'd rather have Pellini than either one, unless Sexton is his agent.

On second thought, considering Smart is a coordinator-in-name-only, I'll take Pellini over him even with that slimy SOB representing him.
