I thought Kirby might be a candidate; but no HC experience--and NOW, I hear that Smart has agreed in principle to a 20 mil deal with the Barners?? Really. Isn't UT a better job? Do we now look at Petrino?

I know I know----------------MERGE.

If we are going cheap hire again, then I'd rather have Smart over a lot of these other guys we're interviewing.

Don't want, but weird his name hasn't been mentioned. AT ALL.

I don't want Smart AT ALL. I'd rather he go out and get a job as a HC somewhere else and let that school find out of he can coach or if hes just another Dooley. Now after he's been a HC, even at a small school in a bad conference and he's proven he can win then I wouldn't mind taking a look at him. But we need a coach NOW and not in a few years and we can NOT take a chance on someone that is completely and totally unproven as a HC, especially a saban disciple.

I hope you're joking...His name has been all over the place. Not reported by Hyams or Hubbs, but that makes sense considering Hart all but said in his original presser that he would not be considering coordinators

Smart will end up like Muschamp where no one wanted him and then wins 11 games.

A little confused. I thought everyone wanted Muschump. I believe he turned us down a few years ago. His stock was rising each year that he stayed on as "coach in waiting" in Austin.
