I was listening to Speilman today and he said he talked to someone inside the athletic department and Kirk is the front runner for the job.

Thoughts?

I heard something about that to.....Correct me if I am wrong but didnt Iowa pay him something like 3 million a season for their mediocre teams??? I dont see how he could end up at UM....Only way he goes is if Miles stays at LSU and Harbaugh doesnt want it, I heard on 104.5 the zone that Jim Harbaugh will be the second name they call after Miles...

From what the media is saying up in these parts Harbough has no shot.

Reason being, he is quite vocal about the good old boy network that Michigan employs inside the athletic department and he vowed to change it.

Kirk Ferentz has been overrated forever. Its not like there's a huge difference between Michigan and Iowa.

harbaugh burned his bridges for that job. I can't imagine why they would want Ferentz. Michigan is one of the top 2 or 3 best jobs in the country. They could get pretty much anyone.

they did have back to back 10 win seasons in a state that produces almost zero div 1 talent.

They should talk to Jeff Teford, as well. That way, they've done their due diligence on overrated, overhyped coaches.

Tedford may be overrated as a head coach but he is still one of the top OCs around. Carroll said recently that tedford was his first choice as OC before norm chow. Tedford >>>>> Ferentz. edit; tedford would win at michigan (as would a lot of coaches of course).
