Being stuck in the capital of North Mississippi and East Arkansas the only news that I get about UT sports other than University sites and Volnation is the Knox News and Chattanooga Times respectively.

Honestly the Knox news is complete crap filled with journalists that can't even spell Vol without spell check. When are the boosters going to pressure the paper to get rid of the hacks and bring in the actual reporters that write Vol news for Vols from Chattanooga?

The boosters are going to pressure a paper to hire reporters from Chattanooga??

TFP has some great sports writers. What Chattanooga has in TFP sports writers it significantly lacks in local news sports reporters. jmo

What would change if the TFP writers were hired by the KNS, except maybe that they would be hamstrung by a different editor? It's all on the Internet, right? Just read the TFP if you like it better.

I remember going through this. The quicker you realise that it isn't going to change the better off you'll be. Your blood pressure and quality of life will greatly improve if you just avoid kns.

Freak is really doing a humanitarian service here on Volnation.

KNS has gone the route of the big city papers and old media. The only reason to buy it is for the coupons and sales papers. If you want current, accurate info go to the new media. VN being one such source.

As a subscriber I feel confident in saying the TFP is a complete newspaper . Easily the best sports section in the south.

Honestly, with Twitter feeds and "instant" news there really isn't a need to read the articles and columns any more.

As far as the boosters go, I'm pretty sure they have better things to do than to put pressure on the KNS to get new writers.

The Chatt paper is good for sports...much better than the KNS. The sooner John Adams goes back to his swampy bayou the better. Several others there are pretty sorry too. When they can't S-P-E-L-L & write run-on sentences all the time, they tend to lose credibility, regardless of the content. I can't even remember the last time I bought a paper!

The posters on GoVolsx really despise Adams and call for his head daily. Guess the thing to do is boycott kns 'til he is let go. He practices "yellow jornalism." I call it dirve by journalism.

This is what I dont understand. If you go to a restaurant and the food sux, do you continue to go back dailey and complain about it?

SOMEBODY better keep buying papers or soon there won't be any. The Mobile PR, Birmingham News, and NO Times Pic--were bought by a conglomerate, and went to 3 times per week. AND sorry as he11. So youse better support the Chatt times and KNS---that consolidation thing is trending. Buy Papers! You cant hold the monitor in your hands while having coffee.
Computers are for Vol Nation---thats all. Evan Woodberry was a casuality of the Mobile buyout. Was the Auburn writer. Pretty good , IMO.

The KNS (minus Strange and Adams), much like Sports Animal 99, is a state-run institution, imo. They report what the UTAD tells them to report.

Rucker's biggest issue is he can't handle when someone disagrees with him. Hyams is sort of the same way. They both resort to belittling those that disagree with them.

One solution for Knoxville subscribers to convey the message that "we want the cancer removed" (most notably John Adams) would be to cancel their subscriptions to the New Sentinel and inform the KNS that they will be subscribing to the Chattanooga paper henceforth. Yes, I know that it is cutting off your nose to spite your face, in terms of convenience, and it still probably wouldn't have the desired effect. A large, grassroots movement of that type would send a message, however.

The point is writers like adams have NO place in the heart of Big Orange Country ! The TFP has gotten rid of a couple of columnists at the behest of subscribers.
