I’m a student at utk that is just starting to get into hunting. Checked out a couple wmas such as royal blue and not a peep this morning from any turkeys. Thinking about going over to forks of the river wma in south knoxville. Anyone have any luck their with Turkey or any other public hunting land?

Cades Cove... early or late is best. They have deer, turkey, elk, bear, and hogs.

Just kidding... you should get some good feedback I'm sure.

ArcGIS Web Application

The map shows all of the public land open to hunting. I haven't hunted turkeys recently but know that Blount, Monroe, and Loudon counties have plenty of turkeys.

Drive a little and go to BSF. Hog, turkey and deer. Good fishing too. Even see a bear from time to time....

Cherokee WMA is a big one close to you. Also Citico Creek Wilderness is near you. Good hog hunting.....

You might check loyston point on Norris lake. I think it's available without a quota permit and I'm confident there are some turkey. Maybe cove Creek wildlife management area on Norris.
