how? I've never bought in to the ESPN hates us, but us loving them doesn't mean they love us.

It's just a joke man. Espn is a conglomerate. They hired a bunch of different people from all over the place. You can't speak to them as having one opinion of a team. Of course there are certain personalities that do hate tn. Such as pollack, which is wrong Imo. He'll always have a biased against tn because growing up a George fan, we crushed his dream every year. Seriously! Like 18 times in a row or something was the it. But as a whole, Espn can't ''dislike'' any one team

Knoxville is also one of three cities that's consistently rated as a top college football and college basketball market.

We can't get enough of college sports, UT or otherwise.

If Chris Fowler makes that comment he made about a minority that would have been the last time anyone ever heard of him. ESPN is VERY biased toward teams that are winning & give little love or attention to teams that are down. They'll be our biggest fan when we get back on top.

I am still mad about 1997. ESPN still hates us.:finger3:

The main reason, imho, for Vol fans thinking or joking about ESPN hating us is because of the bs Heisman stunt they pulled to get Charles Woodson the trophy. Peyton was the obvious choice all year, but they needed a story and threw in an argument for a defensive player. I think the Heisman Trophy lost a lot of respect and credibility that year and I consider it a joke and waste of time paying attention to, for the most part.

ESPN also hates baby Jesus and Christmas
Oh just read they buckled under pressure.
ESPN reverses decision to ban Catholic hospital's Christmas ad | Fox News

Billy O'Reilly on Fox the most viewed new media broadcast in the country really blasted ESPN for not permitting the Christmas ad. They backed down in one day. We could ask Bill if ESPN should apologize for the trailer trash comment. I live in South Florida and visit the Florida Keys quit often. There are many people living in trailers and RV in the keys which are actually quite wealth. I wonder I ESPN would consider them trailer trash?

I'm the same way. I can care less about the heisman, and if a Vol ever wins it. It just showed this year with the whole Winston deal. Once his issue came up, ESPN started scrambling to pump up others. A player like Petty or McCarron have one bad game or lose the game and all of the sudden they are not worthy of it. I hate to say it but think McCarron deserves it more than then anything.

----

People need to be careful with putting to much faith in ESPN, or any media source, that isn't straight fact. Ie game highlights etc. Saw it heavy with the whole playoff system deal. When they didn't have the right contract In place they were pushing it hard. Then they get the contract they want, and they simmered the talk. It's all about the money. They push a playoff because to them that's more games to televise and discuss etc. I know this is all "captain obvious" but I really think there are so many people that can't distinguish the difference of fact and when they r being manipulated by the media.

With that said Pollack is bad but no one is worse than danny kanell. He HATES the SEC as a whole, and it's at the point of an "inferiority complex" level. U can guarantee he will take a shot at the SEC when he has a chance.
