Knoxville vs Chattanooga

As much as I love Knoxville, if we're voting based on the outdoor activity factor, I think Chattanooga is the way to go. Amazing rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, great mountain biking.

Chattanooga and Knoxville are very different cities. Knoxville I feel like is a true college town and there is nothing wrong with that. Chattanooga is more of an outdoor town. I didn't click the link but if its based on outdoors stuff Chattanooga wins.

Chattanooga definitely beats Knoxville. Maybe if Knoxville ever gets a real river-walk area with businesses/restaurants and parks it can compete.

Provided you give the GSMNP to Knoxville, we have better hiking and this isn't even close. If you could somehow go back in time and make that National Park a National Forest instead, we would have the most epic mountain biking on the east coast in the Smoky Mountains.

As it stands though, Chattanooga seems (from a distance) to be a much more forward thinking and better governed city than Knoxville.

Either way, both cities are in TN and close to some serious natural beauty. Can't go wrong really with either.
