I'm not sure if this is the best place for this, but i figured an off-topic forum called "The Pub" was a pretty plausible candidate.
My best friend is opening a brewery called Crafty Bastard in Knoxville this Spring. He has been brewing for about five years, and has been spending most of that time honing his craft. I've done several blind taste tests comparing his brews to some of the top nationally ranked beers, and every time his have at worst compared favorably and at best been my preferred choice.
They already have a location lined up, and are about to begin construction. They will be at Emory Place in 4th and Gill just off of Central. They have the money to guarantee opening, but they are trying to secure extra funds in order to build an outdoor patio, to add stairs to the upstairs area, and to spruce up the inside of the brewery. In order to get this extra money, and to connect a bit with the community, they are doing a Kickstarter.

I wanted to let everybody know about the awesome brewery fixing to open in our area, and give everybody a chance to get involved early, to help support a small business, and to get some cool rewards for contributing.
They will also be doing several events in the next couple of months, including a few that will involve free tastings. Look for a News Sentinel article on the 20th as well.
