They can put plenty of scary stuff in a PG-13 movie. Probably kept it that way to attract more families since a lot of families see movies together over the holidays.
in this scenario, that's not a good thing imo
i wanted this to be a more adult Gremlin's-like movie with some good horror violence, schlocky gore, darker (yet still comically light) tone, etc something along the lines of Trick 'r' Treat.
was not wanting a family movie, nor do I want to deal with kids or damn teenagers in the theater.
