per radio reports out of Louisville.

Should be an interesting week. Does Brooks:

1. Use his backup who's not very spectacular but has 4 years in the system?

2. Randall Cobb, which eliminates both the Wildcat and a top WR threat?

3. Yank a redshirt off one of the 5-star freshmen (probably Newton).

I am sure your ace QB coach will figure something out.

Cobb is their best option.

The problem with putting Cobb under center, aside from the limited package he knows, is if you remove him from the WR corp you take away the guy you'd really like to throw it to most of the time.

I'd look for Fidler to be the main man with maybe a heavier dose of the Wildcat with Cobb.

If either of the freshmen are as good as their stars, it seems like Hartline would have been beaten out.

This.

This, too.

ESPN said he would only be out the next 4 weeks for what its worth.

I honestly expect Cobb to end up at QB though. I mean its basically a permanent wildcat except he actually has some experience at QB from last year.

Rivals had them at 4 and 3, not 5*.

Ryan Mossakowski - Yahoo! Sports

Morgan Newton - Yahoo! Sports

Looking at the offer list, it is obvious they were both very desirable players, but to step in and run an SEC offense 4 months after prom is a damned hard thing to do.

We might want to remember that next September.

Mossakowski was downgraded due to an injury. He can ball tho.

Basically what everyone is reporting is that Fidler is the starter at this point, but they're taking the redshirt off of Morgan and letting him compete for it, and they'll be running a lot of wildcat

At one point both were rated that but dropped after signing with the Cats.

Eww! You signed with UK? You must suck, then! 2 stars for you!

I usually never have inside info, but I do have a little here.
FWIW, I use to work with one of the KY assistant coaches and he told us they are not suppose to talk about it, but they are starting one of the freshman.

Its an ongoing saga. The best QB we have is the freshman Newton, but he is redshirting. They say Brooks does not want to waste that redshirt for just half a season, but that he gives the team the best chance to win.

On the flip side, all of the seniors and the team are partial to Fidler, because they believe he has earned the right to play. some say there would be a team "divide" should the freshman Newton start.

Personally, I want to see the best chance to win on the field. Which from all understanding, is probably Newton.

Just out of curiosity, why did you think that?

They were 2-6 last year and lost their leading rusher and leading receiver.

or 7-6 with a bowl win. The leading receiver went down 5 games into the season. The leading rusher was thrown in by default because Locke had a season-ending injury.

That said, I did not expect much out of them this year, just was hoping for another bowl game.
