Whew glad that is over, I did not know how we would play against an inferior opponent coming off a big win over Bama. I should not have been worried it had been 12 years since we beat UT Martin but this team has plenty of leadership.
KY what do we know: KY beat FL and Miss St and lost to Ole Miss and South Carolina. Well FL and Miss St are not very good. I thought Ole Miss was good but then LSU happened to them; we boat raced LSU at LSU so what does that mean?
All the below info comes from 2022 Statistics
Rushing - I thought KY would be a good rushing team this year but Chris Rodriguez Jr is 13th in the SEC behind both Small and Wright - KY next best rusher is Smoke who is 24th in the SEC.
EDIT: I forgot C Rod for KY was suspended for several games early this year that is why he is 13th. KY will try to run the ball against us.
PLAYER Stats
Passing - Hooker is 2nd in the SEC and Levis is 7th.
Receiving - TN has J. Hyatt 1st, Bru McCoy 11th, R. Keyton 20th, KY has T. Robinson 13th. B. Brown 21st, D. Key 23rd.
Sacks - B Young is tied for 5th in the SEC, KY does not have a player in the top 10 in sacks.
Tackles - KY has DeAndre Square is 10th, TN has T. Flowers 21st and A. Beasley 22nd
Interceptions - TN has T. Flowers and Hadden tied for 3rd, KY has J. Wright with 1 int on the year.
TEAM Stats -
Offense - TN#1st overall in SEC, KY = 12th
Passing - TN#1st , KY= 7th
Rusing - TN#6th, KY= 13th
Defense - the website doesn't give and overall # for 1-14 for the SEC.
Tackles - TN tied for 8th, KY = 11th
Int - TN 8th, KY 5th
Sacks - TN 6th, KY = 13th
What does all of this tell us? TN statistically is the better team. TN also has the better coaching staff and I will put up our offense against anyone in the country. I think I saw somewhere that TN is a 2 TD favorite in this game. It is a night game, Neyland will be rocking and it is Dark Mode to boot. I personally think we run away with this game and it is not even close.
