That is excellent. Thanks for sharing. I sure liked her list.

For most of my coaching time, I was a head coach. But I learned my craft from a great mentor. By keeping my Type A personality under control, I was able to learn from and support my mentor. I had a fun experience recently. He asked me to come and help with preseason tryouts. There were 4 other professional coaches also helping. I was surprised that he always asked my opinion first before the others. Since I came into the tryout process with no bias or agendas, he viewed my thoughts as a bit more reliable. Also my opinions and assessments were tough and blunt. A good supportive assistant coach is worth a lot.
