the combination of questions from the panel was as thorough as any fan could ask from a coach and star player. the downside (with a broad smile) is that hearing the answers from the Coach Harper and Rennia I don't have much need for the opinions or speculations of many board members.

well worth watching if you have the 40 minutes

"Keyen Green has made a big impact on our team already. She comes in with great maturity, great leadership, unbelievable work ethic on the court. I think she took four charges in one practice. This is a tough, hard-nosed kid that wants the basketball, and if you don't throw it to her, she'll just go get the rebound. She's been really good for us thus far."

Not gonna be surprised if she starts.

This also bodes very well in my opinion

"I want to play with pace too, because the great thing is my size is mobile! They can go. They can go. Kasi (Kushkituah) is flying down the court and Tamari Key can really run. Keyen Green is about as fast as any guard we have, so I think we've got some speed in the interior. So just because we're big, it doesn't mean we want to play slow. We still want to get up and down the court. "

Depth and injury will to me determine the overall success of this team. if they stay healthy the depth of top 7 players I trust and that includes the two new comers Green and Walker. Not sure what to expect from the rest of the roster hopefully a lot of improvement in there game. So to me if this team stays healthy top 20 team that will compete against all on there schedule. Just going off of what Rennia and Kellie said I think we can expect good contributions from everyone who earns playing time

I read a great article on Kasi and how she has worked extremely hard on her conditioning and Strength and that she is now ready to live up to her lofty billing coming out of High School. She has her Mile run now at 8mns that is very good for a big with her size. Looking forward to watching this team this year. In CHRIST Alone

I get the sense from the interviews that Salary and Walker will be impact players. Looks like Walker will be lead PG. Kellie said Horston, Walker and Salary will share PG duties and could be on the court together. Rennia raved about Walker’s poise, toughness and the confidence she has in herself—and her teammates.

“She just adds something at the PG spot that I don’t think we’ve had in a while.”

Walker averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds last season at Western Michigan. She shot 39% from the floor, 32% on 3s and 61% from the free throw line. She racked up 82 turnovers and 76 assists. That’s a 0.93 assist- to-turnover ratio.

To compare, last season Horston had 143 assists and 134 turnovers (1.07 ATO). Massengill earned 128 assists and 49 turnovers (2.61). That ratio was 12th best in the nation.

It appears Walker has been a scoring guard who doesn’t pass much. Hopefully her assists can increase playing with better players.

Walker and Salary are the two players I’m most eager to see play this year.

Kellie and Rennia complimented Salary on her confidence. She said she didn’t come to Tennessee to sit on the bench.

Biggest takeaways for me were the communication and listening are improving, and practices are much more competitive. Looks like Kellie found some players willing to compete and push the returners. Kellie has said she likes our depth this year and the team has focused much more on offense than defense. Thank heavens!

Is it too early to list hopeful starters?

Walker, Horston, Davis, Green, Key.

I dont think Rae would be content sitting on the bench especially after the season she had last season

Not starting Rae? I'm surprised. I would start her over one of the grad transfers (probably Walker). Might also start McCoy for experience in the beginning, but hopefully Green is able to play starter minutes by the mid-point of SEC season.
