Unless of course the NIT really means anything.

Take that Lady Haters.:)

A) Those of us over the age of 10 have faced decades of that very occurrence

B) Most on this board are Lady Vol supporters if not just somewhat ambivalent

C) To call this men's team stagnant is to laughably disrespect a team that finished the SEC 9-10 spots higher than they were projected and ended the year on the tongues of many sports pundits, who lauded their unbelievable progress.

D) I'd guess the members of the team and the VAST MAJORITY of the fans find that the NIT is better than being at home, not playing basketball, and doing whatever the hell you do on a day-to-day basis.

agree with dlw4n.

as far as the NIT meaning anything --- Yes it does. It means

1) a possible championship
2) 3 possible home games and a trip to New York
3) more time to get better and improve for next year
4) more reason to motivate players for next year's tourney
5) shows what you can accomplish when you work like heck
6) possible expansion of recruitting area
7) More National TV time
8) Cheap tickets
9) a reward for their efforts
10) a #1 seed and a Miami game at home gives us an advantage.
11) A possible Rematch with Ole Miss with better Refs. Did not want to think about that all off season.

The NIT means a lot to UT Fans I would hope who cares about the others. Some of the teams that Made the dance will be out of the Dance and watching us play, hopefully one is Vandy.

Still blaming the refs for that lose? The refs did not take over 30 3 point shots.

You talkn to me.... Nah

not worried about the refs and wise enough to know that the 34 or 37 3-point attempts were the key to the loss. Fool's gold for this team.

I want another shot at the same team just to beat them or see if this team can answer. I want to know if they have an answer the only way for that to happen is in the finals of the NIT. Hope it happens.

You are right. Add to it we played flat footed and got muscled. Not the refs fault at all.

I knew that the Lady Vols had several seniors on this team but I didn't realize that they had 5. Next season will be a huge, step backwards as a re-buliding season. five new players and most likely a new head coach.
Glory Johnson, S. Strickland, B. Bass, P. Manning & the tall girl from Atlanta, makes 5 seniors.
If we can get past U.T. Martin, Depaul, & Delaware, then we will most likely meet Baylor at the elite eight...... Delaware is a 3 seed but they only have one player that is really good. She was a transfer from U.Conn. She saw early that Gino was full of it, so she transferred back home to Delaware...... Smart girl.....

I guess you don't follow the Lady Vols much. It's A. Manning not P. Manning and that tall girl (Baugh) is from Cali and not Atlanta. Kelley Cain is from Atlanta but she left the team last year. She was the tall one when she played. Della Donne's leaving UCONN had nothing to do with Geno. It was all about wanting to be near her sister who is blind and deaf. If you're going to pontificate as least take the time to know what you're talking about.

Elena Delle Donne is way beyond "really good." If she had stayed at UConn, they would probably be on about a 100-game winning streak and going for their third straight title. We should beat Delaware if we play them, but she's plenty capable to dragging them to a victory.

In any case, I think it was just a matter of her being burnt out with basketball at that point. She and Geno have both said there were no issues, and he signed her release to go back to Delaware; otherwise she would have had to sit out two years and lost a year of eligibility.
