Probably will be 12-9 after those games. Let that sink in.... 12 and 9, on the bubble of making the ncaa tournament.

There is a helluva lot of quit in this team. There is no telling how bad it can get before all is said and done.

At some point, when it is clear there are no obtainable goals left, it is likely they will tank the rest of the season even worse than they are tanking it now.

This is the worst shooting UT team I can ever remember seeing. You cannot win shooting how our guards are shooting. There is no level of defense you can play that will allow you to win when your guards shoot like ours do.

They just don't even look like a basketball team. They have no feel for each other, and no idea what they are trying to accomplish. They have no confidence, or desire, or willingness to give maximum effort. No one really seems to know what their role is. And they sure as hell have no idea what to do once they get into their half-court offense.

A collapsing zone is to us what an iceberg is to the Titanic.

I wouldn't be so sure about beating UK in Lexington. Look at the past four or five years against them in Memorial Coliseum. They always have refs in their pocket there and I'm sure Mitchell knows our Lady Vols are struggling. He'll have his team and the fans fired up.

At Notre Dame = a blow out loss
Vandy at home = toss up
At Kentucky = another blow out loss probable
At Mississippi State = lose by 10-20

Having watched the UK-SC game tonight, I think it's unlikely that we will beat either of those teams. UK's guards are going to run circles around ours and score at will, and neither Mercedes nor Nia is tough enough to give Graves adequate help against SC's posts.

Folks I kept saying we'll be lucky to be .500 in the SEC this year. This was after watching the team's performance in December. I hate telling everyone I told you so, but in all honesty if this team finishes .500 it will be a miracle. We will be like a 12 seed in the NCAA tournament this year if we're lucky.

Quietly, after the loss to Virginia Tech, I caught myself thinking "you know, this may be the year Tennessee finally misses the NCAA tournament." Quietly, I mean -- I hoped we'd see some growth and what have you. But I'm not quite sure how we make it this year, at this rate, which will take away the last meaningful streak in the LV's possession. It is what it is, regrettably.

Cooper, Deshields, and Nared combine for 9 of 36 or 25 percent. This is why we lose if these players can't shoot better than this average stop shooting.
These three players have become the most highly overrated players to ever come out of high school. They are losing to three star players who are putting up far better numbers for their teams.

These players are also not being allowed to play "their" game. When you have to do exactly what the coach tells you or be bench you can't get into the flow of the game. What has Graves or Russell shown us that warrants then getting the ball every time down the floor like Holly is demanding them to? Diamond takes a high volume of shots but once she gets going she is hard to stop but yet her own coach seems to be the only one to guard her by trying to force her to play a style of play unsuitable to her talents.

Warlick stands on the sidelines confused and does not know what to do. Fire her now. Kira Elzy is the only good part of the coaching staff. This may be the first team since the early years not to even make into the NCAA playoffs peroid. There are several former UT players to replace her such as Jody Adams and Kelly Jolly Harper. If the former UT player at LSU does not do something quickly, LSU will give her walking papers, for $700,000 per year the LSU team is worse than when she accepted the position.

Cooper especially was brutal on the stat sheet.

As I said in another thread, savor every victory because they are precious.Anyone not playing a zone against us is a fool of mega proportions. As Holly has indicated multiple times she has no clue what or how to fix the problems and she is not there to coach effort. This team could snap out of it zone doldrums if Holly would walk across the hallway and ask our erstwhile Men's BB coach,Coach Barnes for some help.....but I ain't holding my breath until that happens.

What a great recruiting tool that can be for Holly. "Come to Tennessee and watch the NCAA tournament on TV." That should get the high school girls to line up.

We have a bad staff and a pretty young and not very strong-willed team. Last year Burdick and Lizzy gave us good on-court leadership; this, we've got NO-body. And nobody with any competitive fire--a bit from Carter and Middleton and that is about it. Warlick needs to scrap the disastrous offensive sets she runs now, talk to some real basketball coaches, get some ideas for attacking a zone--and they drill our players until they are puking after every practice. We are such a timid, weak-minded group--this is evident in the way we build leads and then slowly fall apart in so many games. No guts. However hard our practices tend to be, they need to be much harder.

What I find so comical or ironical or whatever is the team talked about how they wanted to win one for Holly when they beat I think Missouri and then that's it? They only want to win one for Holly? What about the rest of the season? Pitiful excuse for a coach and these young women are getting horrible leadership from her.
