I disagree to some extent here. Unfortunately, the voters (whether coaches or media) seem reluctant to make significant changes and are even more reluctant to move a team above one already ahead of them without losses by that team, in the case of a team close in number/ranking, or a head to head win against a higher ranked team. And a team ranked 20th who beats a top ten team may not move in to the top ten without several teams ahead of them losing simply because of the reluctance of the voters to make these rtadical changes.
So starting out 20 means that it is much harder to end up in the top ten than it would be if you either start out in the top ten or near there.
