Not a lot of excuses either. This is a talented team who has lapses that result in goals against talented teams, and our offense is so low-scoring it's just hard to dig out. gotta rally and make something happen.

Agreed. But the results are not improving even if the team qualitatively looks better. Hard to argue we're an everything school when this program consistently underperform its talent level. Feel bad for Jaida.

Tennessee soccer concedes late goal, loses to Auburn on Senior Day​

It was a Senior Day to forget for Tennessee soccer as it lost to Auburn, 3-2.
The Lady Vols (7-3-3, 2-2-2 SEC) lost their second straight game against the No. 14 Tigers (12-1-2, 4-1-2), conceding an 80th-minute goal to drop its third game of the season.
Despite responding quickly to Auburn’s first two goals of the afternoon, the Lady Vols could not match the late winner for the Tigers. Tennessee goalkeeper Ally Zazzara had two saves in the loss.

Here’s how the Lady Vols lost to Auburn.
Auburn scores early, Tennessee responds
Auburn opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Carly Thatcher found Olivia Woodson in space in the box, and Woodson tapped in the pass for her ninth goal of the season.
Jenna Stayart leveled the score 14 minutes later, taking two touches on a pass from Sammi Woods to scoreinto the top-right corner. The goal was Stayart’s first in two seasons.
The Tigers out-shot the Lady Vols 5-2 in the first half. Ally Zazzara made one save for Tennessee in the period.
Both teams get early second-half goals

Two minutes into the second half, Woodson ran straight through the left side of Tennessee’s defense, beating Zazzara off the far post and giving Auburn the lead back.
Less than ten minutes later, Tennessee tied the game again. Sarah Bridenstine took a Tennessee corner kick, and Reese Mattern headed it in for her second goal of the year.
Auburn scores late winner
With 11 minutes left, Sydnie Thibodaux ripped a shot from outside the box into the top-right corner, beating Zazzara in goal. As was the case all afternoon, Auburn was able to move the ball up and down the field, including in Tennessee’s attacking area.
Auburn successfully killed the last 10 minutes of clock, giving it its fourth SEC win of the year. The Lady Vols remain with eight points in SEC play.
Tennessee soccer honors seniors
Five seniors received recognition from Tennessee soccer for their careers, including three transfers. Louisville transfer Hayley Howard joined Michigan transfers Woods and Bridenstine as the three transfers playing in their final season.
Nolyn Bartholomew and Jaida Thomas were also honored pregame. Both players have spent their entire career in Knoxville.

I mentioned this in an earlier post, but reflect back on the spring. We had transfers that came in and then chose to bail out after a few weeks with this coaching staff. This could happy for a lot of reasons and we did well with the Michigan kids, but the bottom could fall this off season in my opinion. Just an opinion, but a mass exodus of talent could take a while to unwind.
The resources and atmosphere should be a destination, but easily wasted in the wrong hands

Mad probably knows more but I bet Tennessee is way behind other women's soccer college teams on NIL deals.
