so it turns out he was the best recruiter on the old staff anyhow. they leave and try to pull the players with them and he still held most of this class together.

its gone overlooked in a way, but much respect for the job hes done this week recruiting to not letting the walls cave in

doesnt he have some kind of history with Dooley? They both coached under Saban I know that. I think they will keep him as lb coach.

Id move him to Dcoordinator he is THAT valuable as a recruiter and you cant tell me that a big school wont come calling for him to move to that position anyway.

Lance has skeletons in his closet and would gladly pull the same stuff Kiffin and his crew did. I'm not sure about the financial aspect of keeping/losing him. He's a good recruiter, but I'd be fine with seeing him go. He might be a guy we hang onto to salvage this recruiting class, but I wouldn't make long term plans, like promoting him to a coordinator position.

Both Lance an Dooley were at LSU under Saban. Dooley came on board in 2000 as the TE coach and Lance came in for 2002-2003. Funny thing here is Lance came as the DL coach and Dooley was the TE coach. In 2003 Lance became the TE coach and Dooley became the RB and Special Teams coach the year LSU won the NC.

I don't see how the DC at La Tech is more qualified than Lance looking at his bio. LT has coached at a much higher level and is a proven recruiter.

please expound on your statement that he has "skeletons in the closet". you must be very close to him to know those things.

La Tech's DC really turned them around with minimal talent. I'm excited about this guy. Lance as position coach (lb's?) and recruiting coord. makes the most sense.

he didnt "hold the class together" imo. why would any of the recruits want to follow the guy that everyone is claiming to be the scum of the earth? they may pick up 1 or 2 of our guys, but the general reaction from recruits on CEO telling them to come to USC seemed to be "how dare he?"

I don't know the man. I can say stuff like that. Get over it.

So you just made my point for me... you have nothing to back up your statements...this would have been over a long time ago if you would have just said you know nothing and are just throwing out opinions...

Do yourself a favor and don't become a lawyer or a detective.

And I expect to find you in some threads arguing on behalf of Lane Kiffin. I'm sure none of the guys accusing him of driving intoxicated know the man. Clearly they are all liars.

There you go again...throwing your opinions about ppl to the wind...comical...

this is my original debate with you...you say he gladly would pull the same stuff kiffin did...and i provide you with an article quoting LT as saying he was pretty much disgusted at kiffin.... which would make your opinion fact less and a rumor that you created...

First of all, I assumed you were arguing with me over the same point as the other guy. Perhaps you should try being more specific next time.

As for Thompson, he's a Saban disciple that's never spent more than 3 years (and he only has one 3 year stint) at one spot. We should count on him being here forever. Sure all his other stops have pretty much been one or two years, but I'm sure Tennessee is much different for him.
