When Neal gets aggressive and runs North-South before he goes East-West, I like him better. But, Lane does this more often and seems to be more productive. I guess I should have picked Lane.

But, we've got what we've got....

Until next year... soon.

People keep sayin that he "looks" better, yet Lane almost always has a lower Yards per carry average for each game. I think it is 3-1 in favor of Neal so far this year.

I'd go for the hot back. I believe Neal is up to 2 or three fumbles though (didn't see the FL one).

I prefer Hill and Summerhill I think but they need more reps with the A-Team.

Lane does a lot of the same things people complain about Neal doing. They're about the same, although they each do some things better than the other.

I think it's 2? He was hit as Peterman was deciding whether to give him the ball or keep it, really just a complete cluster****.

I think Neal/Lane are far better than the other backs.

I believe Neal is more talented, and overall a more gifted runner than Lane. But Lane runs with more authority, and Neal is always looking for the big play that never seems to be there.

Still backing Neal. I may just be a homer but I love the combo of Neal and Lane. I still believe that those 2, in a more conventional one back offense could be a serious threat to a lot of conference opponents.

I disagree...the reason that big run for Neal never occurs is because he simply cannot change direction quick enough. By the time he finally does the defense has plugged the hole or caught him. He's strong and he's fast but he is not agile and does not have good vision. Lane has much better wiggle but is just too slow. The OL has not been dominant but both RBs leave a lot of yards on the field.

I like Tom Smith..I know he's not going to break a big run..but really the other guys aren't either..he always runs hard and falls forward

How about both?

Neal does better on the outside patterns. Lane does better pounding up the middle.

Complimentary I would say.

My problem with Neal is the same, as when I had with Foster, when Foster was here, he fumbles to much. Therefore give me Lane as the starter.

Not much is ever said about Deanthonie Summerhill, but he's impressed me every time he's been on the field this year. If he had about 6 more seconds, he would have had himself a TD against Austin Peay.

Yeah, they're a regular Cobb-Webb. Travis and Travis.

We have to work with what we have and if memory serves, Neal is a converted receiver so being pounded by a defensive line and linebackers at the collegiate level is a steep learning curve.

If push came to shove and I was the coach and had to pick a starter, it would be Lane. Because he's been a back his entire career and is tougher running through holes on the line. But having two different backs with two skill sets is always a plus.

Also, for the record, Neal looks a hundred times better at slot receiver than he does at RB.

He consistently goes for big plays when catching the ball and his bounce-to-the-outside tendencies actually work in that situation.

I don't think Marlin's quite ready for the big time, and I know this is Neal's last year, but I wish they'd throw to him more. He's got excellent hands.

He caught a pass a couple years ago that literally dropped my jaw. It was toward the sidelines and he bobbled it around but exhibited excellent control and concentration before hauling it in over a defender. I wish I could remember which game that was.

Was running back, then receiver, then running back.
