Lang Wiseman To Be Honored At 2023 SEC Tournament

I had season tickets back when he and Allan Houston were the starting backcourt for Tennessee.

He was a solid player.

When was he on campus? I was there 92-94 and saw Houston and co upset KY. That was my first and only basketball game as a student. Im so glad things have changed as we were so bad.

'89-'93. I somehow managed to become and remain a fan of UT Basketball during that era.

I remember when he went off for about 25 points his senior year and UT won at Arkansas in a relatively big upset. UT only won 4 SEC games that year.

He’s back in private practice now. Served a couple of years in that role.

Just watched the SEC tournament game where Carlos Groves grabbed Shaq around the waist and all hell broke loose!!! They ejected like 5 players from each team . Surprised Dale Brown wasn't ejected since he went after Carlos... Lang Wiseman, Allen Houston and Corey Allen all on that team. Lost but entertaining.

I don’t recall his name but I was there for one game and watched some in TN during his time. I recall a few of the players but Wade was a horrible coach. They were so bad.

He was there at the same time. Undergrad in accounting. Didn't need a tutor.

Lang Wiseman is a good man from a good family. I saw his father not long ago and talked a little about what Lang’s been up to. Lang could jump out of the gym. Had an amazing his vertical leap. He and AH could fill it up unfortunately Coach Houston just wasn’t able to CEO a basketball team. Long time assistant under Denny Crum at Louisville but it never translated to Head Coach.

Crum should have gotten an interview for the Tennessee job when Mears retired from coaching because of depression issues.

I think Denny Crum was an assistant at UCLA under John Wooden at that time.

Lang was a dang good player on some really bad teams.....but those bad teams could occasionally find lightening in a bottle. I remember him popping off against UK I think in 93. I may have that mixed up cause I also remember in 93 we lost to UK in the SEC Tourney by like 60 points right? The night before the blizzard of 93? Or am I making this up in my head???!!! Either way I feel sure Lang beat UK at least once at TBA......and I know we got smashed by them by 60 one year around that time.

Lang was one of my favorite players watching and listening to the not so great Vol teams of my youth. I often pretended to be Lang in the driveway and gym as I bombed 3s!
