According to a very interesting book I recently bought, Neyland Stadium is the seventh largest sports stadium in the world. In the United States, it is the third largest.

This list excludes speedway and motor racing circuits and horse tracks. :good:

I suppose this is correct info. Anybody have any conflicting data?

Good job Milo! UM and Penn St. might hold more people, but Neyland towers over the field instead of spreading out. So ours is tougher to play in!

Dang, milo, you are the man!

Stadium number 10 there reminds me of the movie "Entrapment" with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sean Connery. KL is where they made the big heist!

Any way you cut it, 100,000 is a pretty tough crowd to deal with.

Very True, but ours is louder! :p

I believe that the largest crowd Neyland held was 109,000 and some change. Anyone know the record?

They don't count just those in the seats, they count EVERY person that is in the stadium at the time. So you will end up with official attendance that's higher than the seating capacity a lot of the time.

Yeah, tell me about it. Every home game that I go to, they announce the official attendance and it shocks me sometimes. Those are the games that you know you will get to know your neighbor really well by games end because you are on top of each other most of the game.
