Agreed, he did more for the 1A than almost anyone I can think of.
Meh. Due to a mostly fictional movie "The People vs Larry Flynt", his significance in protecting 1st Amendment rights was greatly exaggerated. I will give him credit for being a more genuine person than Jerry Falwell... but a genuine sleazebag is still a sleazebag.

Larry indirectly got me a horrible whipping when I was in 4th grade. A buddy of mine found a Hustler mag in the ditch beside the road while he was riding his bike. He stashed it at our clubhouse in the woods..... a day or two later me and some guys had been playing football and decided to go look at the mag... I had my jean jacket off and laid it down .... while I wasn’t looking one of the other dudes ripped out a page with a picture of a naked black chick with a big Dr.J fro opening the curtains and put it in my jacket pocket ... I didn’t know it was in there... I got off the bus the next day and as soon as I got in the house my mom was all over me like a cheap suit ..... pulled the picture out raising all kinds of hell because she thought I’d been “showing that at the school house”..... she never did believe that I had no idea it was in there.... I even tried the truth ... ended up with an epic beating

Someone might have to tell a majority of the Leftists here what Hustler was since that skin mag wasn't really the type they kept in their public restroom wheelhouse.
