Houston Nutt to hold a press conference at 3PM today to say he is not a candidate for the Memphis job.

I guess R.C. does have some stones after all. His next act should be to tender his own resignation.

Couple this opening with the one in Oxford, and this almost certainly means that Hugh Freeze will be on the move soon.

I highly doubt Freeze moves from ASU to Memphis. It would be penny wise, pound foolsih for CHF. His next destination, if not the SEC, is a BCS school, not another non-AQ spot. Even with a substantial bump in pay at Memphis, it wouldn't be a move up and he could make up that money and more with a BCS job in the next couple of years.

If he did make a move to another non-AQ school, the only possibility I see would be a vacancy at Southern Miss, and that job isn't vacant right now. But that's unlikely, too.

I believe he's the guy at Ole Miss.

Ole Miss is his dream job. He'd fit in perfectly and it'd be a good match. Archie and co are total idiots if they go elsewhere.
