20 laps in and this looks like the demolition derby. Nascar doing a great job with tires.

Looks like Tony was right boys.
No kidding, so far its been a crash fest....As long as Jr. stays out of it that's alright though. Looks like he's got a decent car when he's up front

OMG!!!! Jimmie Johnson just had another bad pit stop, but as one of his tires rolled away again a Nascar official ran over and stopped it from rolling onto the track.

Bulll F'ing S***!!!!!:finger3:

No team is better at taking a top 5 car and finishing outside the top 10.

Even with that mind-numbingly ignorant move, 11th was still a much needed finish.

Moved him up to 28th in points, I agree100% that was a much needed finish.....Now maybe he can put together a string of good runs and get back up in the top 10-15 in points

I wouldn't say that making a boneheaded pit mistake would be a reason for someone to not win a championship. It took Jeff Gordon, four time champion, over two years to learn the pit road rules at Bristol when they made it into 'one' pit road.

i'm just saying the bonehead comes out when the money is on the table.

like today. like Atlanta '04 when he drove into Edwards. like Dega when he dropped the S bomb.

They've all made plenty of mistakes. It took Jeff Gordon 2 years and 3+ races to figure out the pit road rules at Bristol, and he's a four time champion.

He won that Talladega race, every driver would take a win even if it meant losing 25 points.

i doubt that. and especially not while leading the Chase like he was at the time.

he isn't good enough to make up for his teams blunders and his team isn't good enough to make up for his blunders.

i will maintain that opinion until he can prove me otherwise.

As for the Atlanta incident, I'm not sure what the driver is supposed to do when the spotter is saying "clear high, clear high." Mistake all around by everyone, but again, it's not the first time that has happened, nor will it be the last.

He should've known better with the 's' bomb, but I'll maintian that it's ridiculous to fine a driver points for something he says, no matter who the driver is. I don't see how you can say that's a mistake when the money is on the line after he just spanked the field for the 5th time at Talladega.

All in all though, we agree on the general premise which is this isn't a championship team in any way. Their concept of "pit stragey" has long been a mystery to me, as it apparently has been to them as well. That is where they lose most of their races or lower their finishing position more often than not through the years.

i'll agree that it's ridiculous to fine a driver 25 points for saying that on TV.

however, he should have been smart enough to know that was something that would create controversy, especially with him saying it. just wasn't smart of him to do, regardless of what the outcome would have been. i understand the getting caught up in the emotions of it aspect, but you still have to think about what you're saying and you're still responsible for it.

it amazes me that with the success he and Tony Jr. had in 04 that they can't even sniff it now. yeah, they made the Chase last year, but i doubt anybody would argue that they were really in position to win it all.

That team swap they pulled after the 2004 season really set them back, and they're still trying to recover/catch up.

Dale Jr. said the S word when he was excited and happy that he had won. There are a lot worse things that he could have said. It was a slip up, give him a break. Some people will find any way to nit pick at a driver they don't like, it's ridiculous.

First of all, they should have never left the track yesterday. They were running in fifth and on their way to a great finish. That is all they need right now is to finish and be consistent. Stay out, finish the race and move on to a track that has been pretty good to you in Atlanta. They saw Burton coming to the pits and thought if he can do it then i can. They didnt know that Burton was having problems and had to pit.

Pit road always waits one lap around to open and JR should have known that. Dumb dumb mistake.

Second, Jr seems to be very negative and kinda bitchy on the radio. Before the caution he was saying how the car sucked and didnt have anything for the front guys. Well he was in 5th at that time and should have been saluting his guys for the job the did over the whole weekend b/c he had a great car the whole time they were in Vegas. He is still immature and will probably always be that way. He has great talent just doesnt seem to have the same will his daddy had.

How can fans be overrated? Most people do have a reason for being a fan of someone. Please explain what you are talking about.
