Thanks Larry! Now I am extremely depressed...

I vote to put our old friend, Ben Franklin, in charge of recruiting

Shocked that GA only has 639. Thought that number would be more like 850.

Do you have VA or NC by any chance?

And alot of those 4*s come out of Memphis where loyalties are divided between UT, Ole Miss, and Arkansas making it even harder. In fact, I would say that fact makes usmonly better than KY.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Da'rick a 5 star?

I believe these are recruits broken down by homestate, regardless of college attended. I know Texas over signs but they don't nail down 200+ recruits per year.

This info is helpful to see what kind of local instate base each sec team has.

Just shows in the past we have been our best when we pulled key players from SC,miss, GA, and Kent. I always remembered those states were staples on sending one or two really good players to ut.

Cbj needs to look at rosters of past n where they came from. If he does n recruits at a level there good things should happen.

Simple recipe. Get the BEST 5 instate players. Then get 20 even better players from wherever they happen to be from, though I'm partial to GA and FL recruits.

Punctuation is your friend. This reads like the babble of a toddler.

Our educational system shows that we should have excellent athletes. Something's not matching up here.....

Recruiting rankings are worthless numbers used to sell magazine subscriptions, off-the-rack takes, and access plans to pointless services.

If you want to really discuss the quality of a class, rank them after their first year of contribution. Anything else is just striving for e-cred.

Interesting...of course state lines don't actually mean much. I wonder how many 4 and 5 stars were located within a 4 hour drive to Knoxville?

There is still enough for us to pull 10-12 quality players from Tennessee every year. Then go get the rest elsewhere.

Tennessee talent is getting better. I'm very hopeful.

All it takes is a couple kids with state pride that say they're ready to change things. The other state kids will follow them. It looks like the 2014 class could be that class.

I bet most of those 4 stars in Tennessee are in Memphis and Nashville. The key for Tennessee is to get a third of those four star players available in Tennessee and get about 5 guys from Georgia and Florida. We can close out the class every year with a Kentucky player or two and same for SC and NC.

and people still will argue that Tn isn't at a recruiting disadvantage.

Sounds like Dooley was a dick to some hs coaches in tn. Part personality probably, but also probably because they know this information

Considering a big part of Georgia and South Carolina would be in that circle, I'd say more than a few.

true, but going deep into someones turf is hard to do. Atlanta area kids have plenty of local choices before they look a few hours up on the Hill

Sorry to have to tell you this but your data is flawed:
Bryce Brown, Jantzen Jackson, and Da'Rick Rogers were all 5* recruits.
