We have just a few spots left for our luxury bus trip to UGA on Saturday, and I'd really love to see them filled.
Why?
With each person that we have on the trip, we raise more money to help fight blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma. If any of you have experience with any of these, you know that they can be devastating. They certainly have been to me.
About three years ago, I lost my sister to leukemia. She especially loved when the Vols would beat Georgia. This is a girl who cried when Verron Haynes caught that TD in the last minute of the October 2001 battle. The nurses had to come in her room and quiet her down as Wardlow blocked Georgia's punt and recovered it for a TD in '06. I miss her so much.
During her nine-month battle, my father and I had UT basketball to take us away from that struggle each week, if only for a few hours. Every game, we walked out of that arena happy, as we won every home game.
For that special time that Dad and I shared, I will forever be indebted to UT basketball and Coach Pearl for the job he's done and the excitement that he brought us during that rough time in our lives.
That's why we created these trips. We're giving back. We're giving back to UT basketball, and we're continuing the fight against blood cancers. Two great things.
We have a GREAT time on the trip every year. In fact, most of the folks we have on the bus tomorrow are repeats from past years. Fred White will be making the trip with us tomorrow as our special guest, as this cause is personal to him as it is to me and my family.
All food, adult beverages, game tickets, and everything else is provided. The bus is terrific. It shouldn't be called a bus. The thing has leather recliners.
If you want to be a "witness" in Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday, and you'd like to help us battle blood cancers as well, please join us on the trip.

Thanks for reading my story, and Go Vols!
